Obama Fans Can't Believe Their President Wanted This to Happen

RUSH: It was an LA Times story on Obamacare, and these are popping up more and more. An Obamacare fan says, "Now I can't sleep at night. I can't imagine this is how President Obama wanted it to happen." No matter what problems that they've had at the website or the exchanges, you can find some Obamacare supporters who've touted the relative success of some of the state exchanges. One of the ones they point to is Covered California, as a success.

But now, people who have been able to sign up with Covered California, are discovering that doctors are refusing to see 'em. Doctors are refusing to treat cancer patients. This is another thing, folks. I can't tell you how many times that I... I hate doing this. I hate, "See, I Told You So," and I don't want to be misunderstood with this. What really frustrates me is this need not have happened.

This tragedy, this destruction of one of the greatest health care systems the world's ever known, need not have happened. I know it has, but it's still tragic. Some doctors are not seeing cancer patients, the doctors that are choosing to not be in network. This is the thing that I spent a lot of time warning people about. Even if you are able to log in, sign on and enroll, some of you were gonna find out your doctors are not playing.

Some of you, your hospitals are not gonna be in the network, the Obamacare network.

In fact, the top-tier hospitals across the country are pretty much all opted out of the network. LA Times: "After overcoming website glitches and long waits to get Obamacare, some patients are now running into frustrating new roadblocks at the doctor's office. A month into the most sweeping changes to healthcare in half a century, people are having trouble finding doctors at all, getting faulty information on which ones are covered and receiving little help from insurers swamped by new business.

"Experts have warned for months that the logjam was inevitable. But the extent of the problems is taking by surprise many patients -- and even doctors -- as frustrations mount." Now, this is where I run the risk of getting into trouble, but none of this surprises me. It was all predictable. This is how frustrating it is. When you know that 2 + 2 = 4 and the country's gonna act like it's 5, would that not frustrate you? I wish I could come up with a better analogy than that.

It's just outrageous. There was no way for this to fall out any other way than how it is, and they point to California as one of the successes. Some patients plaintively say this is not what they were promised. "Aliso Viejo resident Danielle Nelson said Anthem Blue Cross promised half a dozen times that her oncologists," that's cancer doctors, for those of you in Rio Linda, "would be covered under her new policy.

"She was diagnosed last year with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and discovered a suspicious lump near her jaw in early January. But when she went to her oncologist's office, she promptly encountered a bright orange sign saying that Covered California plans are not accepted." She went to her doctor, and her doctor isn't playing. She said, "I'm a complete fan of the Affordable Care Act, but now I can't sleep at night. I can't imagine this is how President Obama wanted it to happen."

I'm gonna assume you're listening. I'm gonna speak to you from my heart. I'm just gonna tell you the truth. I know you're gonna reject it, and you're gonna couple it with whatever you think you've heard about me from the media, but I'm gonna tell you right now, President Obama didn't care. He doesn't even know you. This is the kind of minutia and detail that he either just assumed would magically work because it was his idea or because were there competent people implementing it.

But, no. He knew that wasn't the case because he knew his own website wasn't working. Oh, have you heard the latest on that? How many times have you heard Obama bellyache and whine and moan about outsourcing? His own HealthCare.gov is in Belarus -- and that's one of the reasons why it's a security nightmare. I'm not making it up. HealthCare.gov, part of it is outsourced and is run by an outfit in Belarus. Russia, for those of you in Rio Linda.

So, Ms. Nelson, I'm just telling you: President Obama doesn't care. What President Obama cares about is having the government in charge of and in control of the nation's health care system -- and what the president eventually wants is for you to only be able to solve your problem by going to somebody in government. President Obama wants government to be looked at as a god by you or as an angel.

President Obama wants you and everybody he can convince to look at government as their only chance, as their last resort, as their first resort, as their angel, as their savior, as their guardian angel, guiding light, what have you -- and if it takes a little pain along the way to get there? He doesn't mind if you get mad at your doctor, by the way. He doesn't mind if you get mad at your insurance company. In fact, the madder you get at your insurance company the faster he can get rid of that and have the government become your insurance company.

Now, folks, I'm really not persuading Danielle Nelson while I tell her this. I know that. I wish there was a way to do it. But she's out there, she wants the president to fix it. "Oh, gosh, if Obama knew, he wouldn't permit this!" He doesn't care. He'll say he does, but this is so beneath the long-range objective here. This is so minuscule in relevance to the long-term objective here, that it's just one of the small prices to pay. There gonna be glitches along the way to getting it right.

By the way, I expect if enough people have this problem, the president will try to find a way to blame it on the Republicans or George Bush. Is it the wrong thing to say? I mean, I could sit here and maybe try to reach her another way. I could say, "Well, Ms. Nelson, this is exactly how it was designed to happen because of what the real long-term objective is." That's not gonna work. She's not gonna be persuaded by that. This is a very personal issue.

This is what really rips me apart, folks, because these Democrats have turned all of this into the most important thing in people's lives, and they're out there playing with it like a political football and a game and a toy to be bandied about for votes -- and as a tool to expand the size and scope and the reach of government in people's lives. "I'm a complete fan of the Affordable Care Act," you shouldn't have been," and now I can't sleep and I can't imagine this is how President Obama wanted it to happen. "

Ms. Nelson, it didn't have a prayer of working the way it's designed, the way it's implemented, and the people behind it, it never had a prayer of working. The evidence is all around. I cringe to see people used this way, their lives manipulated and toyed with. Now this woman's got non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. She doesn't have any options. They've been taken away from her. She thought they were all gonna be amplified better than ever. She probably believe that the Affordable Care Act was the cheaper health care act, and some of it was gonna be free but, whatever, it was gonna be plentiful. I just hate what this is doing to people. I just hate what this ideology does. It rips families apart, it destroys incentive, founded on one lie after another.

RUSH: No. Here's the thing about Danielle Nelson. She says, "I'm a complete fan of the Affordable Care Act, but now I can't sleep at night. I can't imagine this is how President Obama wanted it to happen." See, I feel sad for her, 'cause I think that's a sad way of thinking. "Oh, if only Obama knew, he would fix everything." It's like when it's discovered that somebody in Obama's cabinet is a communist sympathizer, "Man, how'd that get past Obama?" What do you mean, how'd it get past Obama? It didn't. "If only Obama knew, he would fix everything." This is the way citizens of Third World banana republics think about their strongman dictators. "Oh, if they just knew, I'm sure they didn't mean it. I'm sure they didn't intend this to happen."

If the reality of being turned down for treatment of cancer -- folks, stop and think of this. If the reality of being turned down for treatment of cancer can't convince her, how can anyone? What could anyone say? So she's not blaming Obama. He'd fix it if he knew. So somebody, in her mind, is sabotaging her health care. Not him. Maybe her doctors don't want to give their services away. Maybe the doctors want to charge too much. Maybe Obama knows the doctors aren't any good. Who knows what she'll come up with to explain this.

CALLER: Good afternoon to you, sir. It's an honor and quite a privilege to talk with you today.

CALLER: Everybody should realize when the CBO makes an estimate, they're gonna be wrong generally most of the time. So if they're saying it's only two and a half million jobs to be lost, you can almost guarantee it's gonna be significantly higher than that.

RUSH: Well, let me tell you why that's true, and with all due deference to the CBO, they are limited by law for projecting 10 years out. That's why the first 10-year projection came in the way it did. They can only analyze the data they're given. They're called bipartisan, but if you got a bunch of cheats and frauds giving them incorrect data, you're gonna come out with gobbledygook, and that's what happened. We got a lie. We got health care is gonna cost less than a trillion dollars. We got premiums coming down, more people covered, all of it was a lie. So now the 10-year period covers four years of implementation, and we've added an additional four years to the original 10, and that's where they're saying two and a half million jobs lost. If you go another five years after that, using just the data now -- you're right. The two and a half million jobs lost is gonna be even more. That's even more people liberated from the responsibility of working.

CALLER: And when this happens, the people dropping out of the workforce, being pushed to part-time work or leaving the workforce, that's gonna increase the premiums to the people and that's gonna increase the cost to the government, so this is just another way to accelerate the economic collapse, and then it goes to intent. And the intent all along, as you so eloquently put it, is what we're seeing happen, because if this wasn't the intent, they would make a change. But not only will Obama not change --

RUSH: See, that is the key right there, folks. You know, you'd be charitable to say, "Okay, gross incompetence, people's good intentions but didn't know what they were doing and too embarrassed to admit it so they're trying to make the best of it." Or, it was intentional. Either way, there's enough data, and not just on health care, but on every other economic policy, there's five years of data now. It isn't working! If they really wanted it to work the way the poor woman in the LA Times wants it to work, they would change it. They would make the changes necessary to make it work. Now, what are those changes? Those changes would be admitting that they're wrong. And that is never going to happen because they aren't wrong, because the sad fact is, this is the intent. You can't get around it. There's enough years now, like you say, if this isn't the intent, change it, fix it. Get it back on the right track. No effort whatsoever to do so.

CALLER: And not only that, but Obama has said, "If you won't work with me, I'm gonna use executive order to move forward on my agenda."

RUSH: Exactly right. And not only that, rather than admit it's not working, they're continuing to try to sell it. They are bribing. I've got the story here. I put it in the middle of the Stack. The way they are getting Millennials to sign up, I'll give you the short version of this. They are, 18-34, they are bribing some to sign up. They're paying Millennials if they succeed in registering new enrollees. We have also found out -- remember, ladies and gentlemen, when we learned that the National Football League was going to be helping the Regime? It turns out that the Obama administration sat down and wrote some bulk boilerplate tweets and Facebook posts and sent those to the NFL Players Association, the union, and the union just assigned them to random players.

The players themselves did not write those pitches. They didn't write those tweets or messages. They didn't write the salesmanship. They just had their names attached to it. So rather than take any step to fix it, they are continuing to try to sell it. That's what Obama's constant campaigning is about. They're trying to sell this. In other words, this poor woman, as identified by the LA Times: "Hang in there. Hang in there. It's gonna work. We're on the case. We're gonna fix it." It's fraud at the base minimum, what's happening here. But it's all permitted in politics. It's hard to prove fraud in politics. You indict the whole industry.

But you're gonna have two things happen. You're gonna have 2.3 million fewer people pulling the wagon, 2.3 million more people riding in the wagon, 2.3 million fewer full-time workers will mean much lower taxes to pay for these and other government benefits. The question remains, are the American people gonna swallow it?

See, I don't think they are. I think the polling data clearly indicates that they aren't, but I don't know what they can do about it. Or, better stated, I don't know what they think they can do about it, other than find a way to not participate in it for themselves. It's gonna be a free-for-all, you know, everybody for himself, which, in normal circumstances, would not be bad thing, but it's just such a tragic thing. It just didn't have to happen.

Folks, this is not like lamenting the fact that Denver lost the Super Bowl. "Oh, this didn't have to happen. Why, if Denver..." This is a whole different thing. We are in this circumstance because a giant fraud has been perpetrated on the American people by the political class of the country. And what it's doing to people and their lives... you take away the desire, necessity, to work, you're effectively dehumanizing people. You are taking away from many people one of the primary sources of their confidence, self-identity, reason for being, particularly in men, but in more and more women now with feminism and so forth making its giant strides. It's just a tragic thing here that's happening, and it's turning more and more people into satisfied wards of the state.

And when you have organizations like the New York Times come along, "Oh, hey, these two and a half million people, there's nothing wrong here. They have been liberated from the choice of having to be in a job they only had to have health care benefits. Now, because of the brilliance of Obama, they've got their benefits, but they don't have to be locked in a job they hate."

Oh its about a lot more than nationalized health care. They’re going for the gold be telling people that they no longer have to work like they’ve won the lottery or something.

Obama wanted it to happen this way months ago...even years...

I blame the Republicans for not trying harder to stop this. Yes, the house has passed many bills which have been ignored in the senate.

By why doesn’t the house hold hearing and invite people whose lives have Ben destroyed by ObamaCare to testify and to point their fingers at the democrats who have brought this law upon them. If there are daily hearings, with each person testifying, pointing the finger at Reid, how long do you think it would take for the senate to have a vote.

I would also call up witnesses from states where the democrat senator is up for re-election in November.

It’s really time to turn the heat on the democrats to get this law overturned. Just saying “we can fix it” does not cut it.

It was supposed to take four years to break, not be stillborn.

Also note that Germany’s representative in Nanking, China, during the 30s wrote to the Fuhrer regarding the appalling behavior of the Japanese invaders in Nanking. Surely, Hitler would be appalled, too. Hitler, at that time building a positive political relationship with Japan, did not respond compassionately to the letter.

Interviewed in LA, Dr Sanjay Rajjah indicated “ Yes I’m a GP but am considering a switch to Oncology. It is true the allowed fees right now are too small to permit the proper office size and equipment but I think I can make up the gap by volume”
