Theres been no shortage of controversy surrounding Tuesdays debate between Science Guy Bill Nye and creationist Ken Ham. While some evolutionary theorists and atheists have chastised Nye for his willingness to publicly face-off against Ham, the former PBS host hasnt been swayed by their arguments.
Instead, Nye has defended his decision to appear at the event, which will be held at the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky. and in an op-ed published on CNN.com Monday, Ham, too, reiterated his own personal quest to use the debate to give creationism a more public voice.

We need to be praying for travel mercies for everyone planning to attend this evening too. A nasty combination of heavy snow and ice is headed for the KY-Oh area and it is under a winter storm warning. A group from our church is planning to drive down.
Hmmmm. Ham on Nye. A little Dijon mustard and a dill slice and you got a deli lunch ...

Nobody will win, no minds will be changed.
In my opinion they aren’t even arguing about the same thing.
I’m a creationist, I believe God made us just like he said he did, I also believe the Bible is silent on what he was up to before our creation.
Evolutionists see a record of a time before our creation and try force it into a mold that excludes God.
I think all sides will be surprised when we stand before our Creator.

I don’t think Bill Ny is really much of a science guy, is he? I thought he was an actor/teacher that just did simple experiments for kids.
Am I wrong about this?
This debate may start to look like an episode of Hannity and Colmbs.
I hope they make it there safely, see that Science Guy get destroyed and get a chance to explore all the facts and glory of the Creation Museum.
You need to increase your medication - seriously
After attending Lafayette Elementary and Alice Deal Junior High in the city, he was accepted to the private Sidwell Friends School on a partial scholarship and graduated in 1973.[7][8] He studied mechanical engineering at Cornell University (where one of his professors was Carl Sagan)[9] and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1977.[10] Nye occasionally returns to Cornell as a professor to guest lecture introductory level astronomy and human ecology classes.
Nye is a comedian. He created the “Science Guy” character as part of a comedy show in Seattle. He has a degree in engineering, but has no science background.
I tend to believe God wrote the laws of physics and designed the eternity of our universe (including us). Once the design was in place, pushed the button and creation started with a bang.
I believe Genesis explained creation with simple symbolism that catered to the knowledge and wisdom of his people at the time (10K to 12K years ago). The story came before there was written history and had to be passed down many generations before a medium was developed that would capture it in writing. I believe it is true and the word of God but interpreted factually incorrectly. For instance, I don’t know how long one of God’s days is. How does eternal existence measure “time” before our earth rotated on an axis once every 24 hours?
But I do respect every believers own faith and opinion on the matter.
All I did was post an article about tonight’s debate and you choose to insult me?
The Stalinist’s at PBS will probably sic the IRS at Hamm.
When you believe in nothing but big goverment you can pretty much do whatever you want...
...your enemies are are the mercy of the unelected ABC regulatory agencies that {enforce} policy by bureaucratic intimidation.
I say that because the IRS silenced another effective creationist public speaker back a few years ago.
Thank you for the link. Our church a few miles away is showing the simulcast, but we’re all hunkering down for a winter storm that is supposed to hit within the next few hours.
Cornell used to be known as the founding institution of the Communist Party USA.
Our local Republican State Senator is a Cornell graduate, with a graduate degree in the politics of the environment from Huxley environmental college at WWU.
Several times when I went to him with a concern, he reminded of his background as a way of replying.
I think that getting this discussion out there is healthy. There are plenty of people on the edge looking for reconciliation between the commonly accepted “scientific” perspectives vs the Biblical record.
However, even if an undeniable argument can be made for creation there are a huge number of people that will reject the Truth. Accepting the Truth means that they would be subservient to their Maker and they refuse to go down that path.
2 Timothy 4:3-5 3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

Have you ever been to the Creation Museum? I believe Oliviaforever has posted a photo directly from it. It is a wonderful, informative experience for young and old.
Thanks for this post, Oliviaforever!
You can’t “win” when your opponent can make the evidence fit any story he cares to tell.
