The $750,000 worth of television ads say "House Republicans want to fix the immigration problem."
House Republicans looking to garner support for leadership's immigration-reform principles are about to get a little help from a group with ties to Mark Zuckerberg.
Americans for a Conservative Direction is the GOP arm of pro-immigration reform organization FWD.us, which is backed by the Facebook chief executive. And they will be airing roughly $750,000 worth of television and radio ads across the country, according to a source with knowledge of the ad buy.
The ads, which will air for 10 days on radio and cable television, describe the drafted principles unveiled to the Republican Conference during their retreat as a "conservative solution." Highlighted elements include border security and conducting background checks on those in the United States illegally. The announcer states the proposal is not amnesty. Children are shown while the announcer says the plan offers "a chance at the American Dream for those brought here as children."
"Step by step, House Republicans want to fix the immigration problem, which will strengthen our economy," the ad declares.
The next few weeks will be crucial in the immigration-reform debate, as members of the GOP caucus begin staking out their positions on the principles and as leadership figures out where a bulk of the lawmakers are in terms of support. Additionally, FWD.us is looking to sway opinon on the Hill with a memo attempting to discredit some groups opposed to reform as "anti-immigrant."
No comprendo.
You avoided the question.
I answered here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3118191/posts?page=50#50
But, I’ll clarify. The ad doesn’t purport to be anything, but an outline. Keep in mind that “immigration reform” can mean anything. To the Democrats it means letting in every illegal whenever and how ever. We actually have that by default right now. Illegals in dozens of cities, counties and states have equal or better rights than citizens.
So the status quo is no good. It punishes those who follow the system. The system needs reform. That reform can take many shapes. FReepers have ideas galore on how that can look.
The fact is we are winning. I suspect that immigration reform will go nowhere. The jobs market is terrible. What the commercial does is neutralize any Democratic attack points. It’s a simple thing to point to.
We’re not going to get “Akined” again.
The question was: Who gets fined and taxed and what is the result of that?
You tell me. The ad doesn’t say.
You posted this as some type of red alert, but it isn’t. It’s an outside group Youtube ad. It says what it says. There isn’t an elected sponsor or anyone attached to it that can move legislation.
Let’s not go all Chicken Little and catastrophic.

You seem to be forgetting Rubio and Ryan very aggressively fronted this group the first time around. Just because they moved into the background does not mean they not are still playing footsie with these goosestepping Dems.
“Zuckerburg is a flaming leftist.”
And right you are.
Mark Zuckerbergs Letter to Investors: The Hacker Way

“We agree which is why we should NOT keep them here. They need to go home and apply for a work permit or visa the legal way. “
You contradict yourself. First you say not to keep them here and then you say they should come the legal way. Which is it?.
This country was founded for the progeny of Europeans, not the progeny of some other country whose citizens are unassimilable and undesirable elements.
If above you meant the first option, then I’ll agree that third world illegal aliens must pack their bags, go back to the countries they came from and stay there. To have them come here legally does not solve the seminal change in demographics that is changing our country for the worst - they will still set foot on our soil.
I also believe that legal immigration is a an even larger problem than illegal immigration for third worlders.
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.[Posted on 03/19/2013 7:04:07 AM PDT by Perdogg]
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... Mark Zuckerberg is a total Obamabot.......do not trust him!
After decades of warlike violent borders, endless crime caused by millions of illegals across America, dead injured American victims by the thousands...
And the Republicans want to “fix immigration” by rewarding them all by making them legal.
Are there still some left supporting the Republicans?
“What would you have us do? Pay above slave wages to American citizens!? If we do that we’ll have to wait a few months to install our gold-plated shark tank bars instead of doing it nowwwwww! We want it nowwwww! Waaaaah! This is a crime against basic human riiiiiights!”
Zuckerburg voted for, and donated to Barack Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns. He also donated heavily to Democrats up and down the ticket.
You are avoiding the question.
You are also avoiding reality. Every single point in the ad is found in the so-called “republican principles.” This group is led by Haley Barbour.
And Haley is an outsider in the GOP. /sarc.
Exactly, the Marxist fascists keep trying to equate criminal behavior with legal immigration when they are both the complete opposite, have absolutely nothing to do with each other. This is about why CRIMINALS are not being kicked the F out of the country!! Why isn’t that happening? Why isn’t the RINO party posting ads asking why foreign criminal invaders are being allowed to remain in the country in this day and age of terrorism? Why are the Marxist fascists in this country always allowed to get their way especially something like this that puts the country in great danger, something that has resulted in the deaths of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of US citizens? This stuff really ticks me off considering I know so many people who came to this country legally and now all these CRIMINALS are screwing it up for people who want to do the same.
Let us remember the victims of the foreign criminal invaders that the Marxist fascist and RINO party wants more of:

How many times does the GOP leadership have to lie before we get a clue? I’m just guessing here, but I’d bet ‘half the farm’ at 10-1 odds that it’s a con job just like all the rest.
Why SHOULD we trust those backstabbing vipers? It’s their job to convince us. They need to go on talk radio for crying out loud and explain their case that way. That is the free way to communicate. My guess is that they wouldn’t DARE take the direct path.
[Not that I listen to talk radio anymore. They lost their sense of fun for too many years last time I checked.]

Kidnapped 6-Year-Old Bravely Asks For Help in Store Bathroom

[Didn’t take a genius to guess what kind of name the kidnapper had.]
Authorities say 23-year-old Joaquin Ramos abducted Kelly Tellez while her mother was unloading groceries ...
The party that wins from this has been blocking the necessary infrustructure for mass immigration, such as refineries and healthcare. And what is their plan for increasing our water supply? What is their plan for cheap housing? For more affordable prison space? [Some of those invisible people are indeed criminals.] What is their plan for more affordable classrooms? Most importantly, what is their FREAKING PLAN for more MANUFACTURING JOBS? More yard workers, discount stores, and restaurants won’t solve a thing.
Cheaper yard workers, maids, and nannies have their appeal, don’t they? Who cares about us? Who cares that violent crimes skyrocket and kidnappings ‘just happen’ to skyrocket due to illegal immigrants, even IF most of them are fine people?
It’s like wondering about the muslim movement in Detroit. That wouldn’t have anything to do with Detroit’s problems, would it?
Some republicans are turned into drones by DC consultants. I believe that Boner is one of them. He wants ‘comprehensive’ in a BAD way even if he won’t admit it to us.
” ... a crime against basic human riiiiiights!
But let’s not look at immigration policies in Mexico though. When our dear politicians try to move illegally into Mexico for one month, THEN let’s see how they would talk!
Good point, Thunder. So this is the kind of support that illegal-fawnning republicans get.
“This country was founded for the progeny of Europeans, not the progeny of some other country whose citizens are unassimilable and undesirable elements.”
May I add some context to your brash statement? I think I know exactly what you mean. Most nations south of the border have citizens raised by a cynical populace. I suspect that religious monopoly undermined their true faith. A religious monopoly [aka ‘orthodoxy’] is always doomed to wanton corruption. It is these orthodoxies which fall prey to marxist dogma — judge people for how they ‘mismanage’ their own money [coveting] and then step 2 — take their money.
The only logial outcome of marxism is atheism. It is incompatible with scripture. And the only outcome of atheism is wicked governence. There are, of course, temporary exceptions. But in the end, the nation becomes cynical.
And ....
We DO NOT want their cynicism flooding the USA.
