The entire country faces at least three days of torrential downpours, savage 150mph gales and weeks of relentless flood misery.
Storm Brigid is expected to first hit UK shores later this afternoon before the full force of the onslaught rips into the country tomorrow.
Experts say it threatens to cause destruction on a par with the ferocious October St Judes Day Storm and subsequent Storm Emily which hit in December.

Thankyou for the link. It is now at 59km.
Probably headed for East Anglia University so it can be categorized as global whatever. Stay safe rest of UK.
One wonders what safe vantage the photographer had to take that picture
Ohhhhhh..... That link is fabulous. Thanks so much for bringing that to us this morning.
Hardly world-shaking, but a stretch of bad weather in the west of the UK. Not that bad in London though.
also, the color indicates the intensity.

Is Algore in London giving a speech on globull warming?
Cool beans!
I would rather trust weather.com than a tabloid magazine. Dublin is west, right? Forecast for there today is rain and 30mph winds..... not exactly an "epic storm" situation. Sunny for tomorrow and NO freezing temps or snow in sight.
I understand that they have flooding due to a lot of rainy days, but nothing anywhere near the storm conditions that the posted article for this thread speaks of.
Weather.com? Seriously? That’s TWC, The Weather Channel, whose goofy global-warming hysteria is so bad it’s being booted off some satellite TV packages, too much even for a lot of PC-types.
My wife’s children live in Ipswich. Sunny there at the moment and when she tried to call they weren’t home. Today was supposed to be when the major part of the storm hit. I guess the weathermen in England are just as accurate as the ones around here.
They did not boot off weatherchannel because their daily forecasts were wrong, but rather because they spent too much of the air time showing stupid goofy global-warming hysteria videos. Their daily forecasts are still very much inline with the national weather service forecasts.
“Wind turbines that the UK depend on will all be shut down, blackouts are likely because of their dependence on wind and solar”
That’s a fact. Britain just reached the 10% mark in energy generated by wind. Scotland, I believe, generates 40% of its energy from wind, with the bulk of it from offshore wind turbines. In addition, the gas storage tanks haven’t been topped off yet, leaving Britons with about a six day supply. Many Britons, I fear, will be shivering in the dark. Britain’s reliance on renewables is about to be exposed as foolhardy and stupid.
Checked a bit ago and they were getting 60MPH winds off the coast and 50MPH on the coast. Maybe (hopefully) that's as bad as it gets.
A single click on a spot on the map cause the local conditions at that location to be displayed. I'm unsure of the accuracy or timeliness.
To change the units (MPH, KM/H, Cent., Far.), click on the unit displayed to toggle through the list.

I didn't know it either, until I was stationed over there 15 years ago as a meteorologist. Was interesting looking at their weather events with names like we do for hurricanes here. Probably where The Weather Channel got the idea.
BKMK (Great weather links)
Thanks
Hi Onyx,
Lovely Sunny day at the moment.
Sunday supposed to be okay as well.
The weather system should be moving to the north of us, hopefully.
The wind has started to get up, but nothing out of the ordinary, yet.
The rain we’ve had over the last four days has brought the rivers back out of their lairs.
The biggest problem we normally get are fallen trees, with the ground so sodden let’s hope the wind stays away.
Keeping batteries charged, will let you know if anything changes.
Thanks for the ping...:)
Very neat weather map. Thanks for posting the link.
