Hi All,
This posting is to announce the publication of my new book "When There is No FEMA - Survival for Normal People in (Very) Abnormal Times". Before posting this I coordinated with JimRob to receive guidance on how to do this properly.
This professional, textbook-quality, 500+ page book represents the culmination of 3 years of painstaking research and authorship, and is intended to be the definitive reference for anyone interested in modern day disaster preparedness. Topics covered include:
One noteworthy and unique chapter provides a detailed action list and charter for instantly organizing a group, neighborhood or small town to survive a worst-case scenario. Another provides the most thorough treatment of personal and family disaster planning to be found anywhere.
By visiting the book's web site and clicking the 'Free Preview' button (or by clicking on the link below) you can begin to appreciate exactly what it has to offer and how it stands out among modern day survival books.

Each book shipped will be signed by the author (me) and ALL PROFITS from sales using this coupon code will go to Free Republic (at this point I'm just interested in getting this book into as many hands as possible).
Happy Prepping!

Great concept and good work. If anyone needs a reason to read your book - the reason can be found in Peter Heller’s ‘The Dog Stars’. Scary!!!!!! Not a movie yet - but it surely will be.

Storyline
Set years after a superflu virus has taken most of mankind off the map, a man lives in the hangar of an abandoned airport with his dog. He spends his days flying the perimeter in his Cessna, looking out for intruders and thinking about the things hes losthis deceased wife and the nearly extinct trout he loved to fish. When a distant radio transmission sparks in him the realization that something better might be out there, the man sets out and discover that things are both better and worse out there.
It’s currently not in bookstores, however it’s been very well received among the various preparadness “meetup groups” across the country. Since it’s a specialty interest I’m just making use of social media to spread the word.
You’ll find this book a worthy addition. I take both the subject (and the printed word in general) very seriously, and I’m sure you’ll see that in the book. :)
I received a Review Copy and it is EXCELLENT. Well put together, VERY informative and vital info for anyone to have. Made me beef up my plans in a few areas. Easy to read, easy to follow information.
After seeing what Atlanta went through this past week, if anyone is NOT prepared for a disaster - Man-made or Natural - it’s their own d@mn fault! I plan on being the Last Woman Standing if need be. :)
THANK YOU! :)
Well, guess that’s what ‘Bumps’ are for...more people will see it. . . :)
Looks like a good book.
I'll be getting at least one.

Many of those other books also promised to inform readers how to "thrive" during disaster - this book is more down-to-earth.
Hi Diana, thanks much for the positive feedback. Also, don’t forget the cool pic of *me* on the back cover!!! :O
I’m a stickler for language myself, so I think you’ll see that throught the book. I’m sure there must be one or two grammar errors, but probably not much more than that. Each chapter went through 15 separate quality reviews. In some cases those reviews required complete rewrites ... I bet I spent 5 months just getting through the rewrite of the survival farming chapter.
Thanks to everyone who placed an order. Based on the response I’ve had to order 50 more copies!
Thanks. Will purchase one to add to my prepper library. Prepparing is a lifetime journey in this day and age. BTTT.
I think everyone should remember something.
When/if the stores run out, that’s it.
There are no “special” stores that FEMA people go to.
There are no “special” stores that local police or fire fighters go to.
I live near JBLM, there are no “special” stores that JBLM families go to. (Actually, they may have PX’s there, who knows how long they could be supplied or if they are even supplied with foodstuffs.)
The point I am trying to make is that if you are huddling in the corner at home waiting for someone “official” to save your back, there is a possibility that the first person who knocks on your door will be ready to take every single thing they can get!
If he/she has a badge, that just makes it easier!
Thanks much. I didn’t really start living until I started prepping, and the few friends I had were folks I worked with. Since starting prepping I’ve forged some great friendships with people from all walks of life, and gained tremendous knowledge (I’ve also lost 90 lbs, with more to come/go!).
Just ordered. Thanks for the heads up.
