Each week, it seems another Democrat lawmaker announces their retirement from Congress. On Thursday, Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) joined the growing list. It is only January, but 11 Democrat lawmakers have said they are quitting at the end of this current term.

Nostrildamus going bye-bye...
Best news I’ve heard this week.
Wretched tho Henry may be, his CD will assuredly send his ideological heir.

Bloomfields campaign relied heavily on an anti-partisan message, reaching out to voters from all party affiliations. California passed the non-partisan open primary in 2010, and without it, like the 20 years before it, Californias 33rd district would not have even been a real race. But under the new top-two system, Bloomfield gave Waxman a run for his money, garnering 46.3% of the vote to Waxmans 53.7%.
Waxman should have left years ago. praise God he is finally leaving after 40 years
Rest assured, he’ll be replaced by some other completely interchangeable, worthless dem party apparatchik.
eh, pig face hits da showers....maybe we’ll find out more are bailing because they know the country has had enough....
The rat/human hybrid genetic experiment is leaving?
I suppose he’s going back into medical studies?
He’s retiring so he can become a truffle-hunter in southern France.
We need to understand why these people were staying up to this point and why they are now leaving.
Most are in safe districts where they would have been easily re-elected, so fear of defeat wasn’t the issue.
This issue is fear of being powerless. When they are in the minority, they can’t impose their superior elite will on the rest of the country, so it’s no fun anymore, and they’ve probably landed some cushy no-work income in the process.
They have large piles of unspent cash in their re election funds and don’t plan to waste it on futile attempts to get reelected over Obamacare hurdles. Take the money and run is the operative plan “A”. Head for warm climes and tax friendly havens.
Why hast thou forsaken them Barack? /sarcasm.
That comment is exactly why FR needs a “like” button.
A uniquely unattractive individual, inside and out.
There are 18 Republicans so far who have announced they aren't running in 2016. How many of those seats are vulnerable for flipping? Link
Too bad he’s not taking Pelosi and Wrangel with him.
Are any of the 11 Dem drop-outs in Districts that a Pubbie would have a chance of winning?
Jokes on us. He will probably stay in DC and lobby for some HealthCare group looking for tasty tax code or regulatory nuggets in the slop called Obamacare, collect his pension and get payed handsomely on K-Street....
He’s going to be replaced with someone even worse...
