President to Seek to Use State of the Union Address to Shift Souring View of Leadership
President Barack Obama's State of the Union address Tuesday night will seek to shift the public's souring view of his leadership, a challenge the White House sees as critical to shaping the nation's policy direction over the next three years.
Mr. Obama will emphasize his intention to use unilateral presidential authority—bypassing Congress when necessary—to an extent not seen in his previous State of the Union speeches, White House officials said.

So here we have a leader with collapsing support and plummeting poll numbers, threatening to ramp-up his use of executive authority and begin ruling even more like a dictator.
Meanwhile his opposition party sits idly by and lets him, mainly because their control lever is the power of the purse, and they living in quaking mortal fear of “shutting down the government”.
Historically unprecedented. No idea how it will work out, but future historians will be fascinated.
And what is congress going to do about its power being usurped by a dick tater?
