A well-respected constitutional expert is blasting President Obamas unprecedented abuse of powers, and has decribed him as worse than Richard Nixon. He even goes so far as to call him the most un-American president in the history of the nation.
The words of an arch-conservative? Hardly. The warnings of a liberal icon.
Nat Hentoff, historian, novelist and syndicated columnist, is not a fan of Barack Obama. In fact, Hentoff says its time to consider impeachment citing Obamas tendency to resort to executive orders or actions whenever his proposals are rejected by the Republican-controlled House of Representatives.
Apparently he doesnt give one damn about the separation of power. Never before in our history has a president done these things.
The executive power abuse issue most recently made the headlines last week when Obama said: Ive got a pen
and I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions.

He was writing “progressive” articles for Playboy at least back in the 70s, maybe the 60s.
I am in total agreement.
It is in fact bizarre, insane, and yet this country continues down this path.
Apathy and ignorance is being held up and defended as a virtue.
The left as soo completely co-opted virtually every aspect of society into thinking that making a judgement call is a form of discrimination.
We are not allowed to call someone out for being stupid, ignorant, crude, hypocritical or degenerate.
It’s become relative.
We are living in a world that embraces uncertainty.
Hillary already has her transition team (Posdesta) on site in the WH. Fear not.
“Now, if we could only get CONGRESS out of the COMA that they are in.......”
If we can’t then it’s down to us...We The People.
I expect the IRS and the FBI to show up at Nat’s door any day now.
As to the Founders' "separation of powers" principle:
Separation of Powers
- the genius of America's Constitution
America's Founders had just declared themselves free of a tyrannical government. They were determined that such tyranny would never be repeated in this land. Their new charter of government - the Constitution - carefully defined the powers delegated to government. The Founders were determined to bind down the administrators of the federal government with Constitutional chains so that abuse of power in any of its branches would be prevented. The revolutionary idea of separation of powers, although unpopular at first, became a means by which this was to be accomplished.
John Adams, in a letter to Dr. Benjamin Rush, stated: "I call you to witness that I was the first member of Congress who ventured to come out in public, as I did in January 1776, in my 'Thoughts on Government,' ...in favor of a government with three branches, and an independent judiciary..." By the time the Constitution was adopted, the idea was supported by all of the members of the Convention. James Madison, the father of the Constitution, devoted five Federalist Papers (47-51) to an explanation of how the Executive, Legislative, and judicial branches were to be wholly independent of each other, yet bound together through an intricate system of checks and balances. Madison believed that keeping the three branches separated was fundamental to the preservation of liberty. He wrote:
"The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many... may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny."
George Washington, in his Farewell Address, reminded Americans of the need to preserve the Founders' system. He spoke of the "love of power and proneness to abuse it which predominates in the human heart" and warned of the "necessity of reciprocal checks of political power, by dividing and distributing it into different depositories and constituting each the guardian ... against invasions by the others." Of such checks and balances through the separation of powers be concluded, "To preserve them must be as necessary as to institute them."

Woo hoo!! And the first 27% is in!! Thank you all very much!! |
If even dyed-in-the-wool libs are saying this... Where the hell is our Congressional GOP leadership? I mean, other than on Leno trashing their own base...
Not at all. It’s easy to explain.
FR is widely believed to be an extremely conservative site. Far more conservative than the general public. That’s a given.
Yet even here, there are a significant number of posters who knowing that the GOP has in the past consistantly, and has shown intent to continue forwarding Obama approved policies regarding illegal immigration, Obamacare, Vet benefits/military policies, Say that they are a lesser evil we must vote for “No matter what”.
So if here on the far right Repubs know they have nothing to fear from the far right of the wing, they can be 100% sure that they will get enough votes to stay in non-opposition positions of ‘power’.
Simple. People got what they voted for. If they didn’t want that, they wouldn’t have voted to empower the GOP toward more liberalism.
The joke was people had to vote against Obama last time to prove they weren’t idiots after voting to show they were not racist the first time.
Same goes for Republican voters. If they vote for more of this insanity this time, after seeing how far left the GOP has flown in the last couple years, they too will be shown to be irredeemable idiots.
And instead of attacking the messengers, perhaps the GOP fanboys and girls ought to engage their brains instead of their emotions.
He's not. He's a libertarian (from the Left).
Mysterious car accident in 5 . . . 4 . . . 3 . . .
That guy, Hentoff, is obviously a racist.
just my suspicion but there is always that data gleaned by the NSA that could be used to persuade (John Roberts for one) any who might disagree with the tyrant in the WH
It's also nice to know there is an ACTUAL line a lib will draw when it comes to Obama lawlessness...
My guess is his motivation behind it all is the concern a GOP POTUS will follow in Obama foot steps and treat libtards like Obama treats conservatives...
Like that would happen...:)
The GOPe idiots do not want States. They want the business of the illegals, to turn Wisconsin into a cheese factory. Menwhile Obama is making deals with them and trashing it stabbing them in the back with the EPA. The GOPe will never see the money of it. They have forfeited all influence and lobby powers to the won.
And yet idiot libtards are still electing far-left libtards. Look at my own NYC. I cringe every time I read the latest lunatic thing DeBlah-blah wants to do. Now, it’s having school vacations for every religion’s holidays. Chinese, Mooslime, etc. How about the Church of Satanic Rites? Will they get a day off, too? The result will be nickel and diming away days when teachers would much rather have a solid block of time off. With the loony-bin “Danielson” evaluation criteria just put into place and the Commie Core Crap, you can cut the tension and anxiety in teacher lounges with a knife. Everyone is more worried about the style and vehicle of the lessons than the materials which supposed to be taught. There is no time to research the CONTENT of the lessons, less time to call parents, to work with students-—only to make sure you are teaching “Danielson” style. When you have to worry more about jumping through 22 (yes, 22) checkpoints for your lessons to fulfill the “Danielson” crap than what you are actually teaching, there’s a problem, Houston.
We need a party that folds conservatives, libertarians and independents into one. Platforms would be limited government, fiscal responsibility and policies that promote small business and economic recovery.
It’s insane.
But it seems to be on auto pilot.
I would first suggest having a deep understanding of “How they think”.
It’s not like you or I.

We need to develop a tactic, a concept of ideas that can quickly undermine this way of thought.
I’m open to proactive suggestions.
