Too old to be given cancer treatment: NHS is 'writing off' patients who are over 75
Daily Mail ^ | 1/23/14 | Jenny Hope

Pensioners with cancer are being written off as too old to treat, campaigners said yesterday.

They cited figures showing survival rates for British patients aged 75 and over are among the worst in Europe.

Young lung cancer sufferers are only 10 per cent more likely to die within five years than their continental counterparts.

But pensioners with the disease have 44 per cent less chance of survival.

The figure for stomach cancer – at 45 per cent – is even worse.

I don’t disagree that morphine is a wonderful drug for pain, but I have learned from the liberal media and our president that apparently marijuana is the new “miracle drug” that needs to be prescribed for, well, everything!

mm:

I try not to let ANY of “les miserables” get me down and there are REALLY some UNHAPPY, angry and very bitter folks here on FR. They seem to get SO angry when I refuse to be as angry, bitter and unhappy as they are.

But, then, I count my blessings. Why not? Life is too short to spent ANY time in emotional upheaval. That’s Satan’s workshop. Doncha think?

The liberal media seems ALWAYS ready to take ANY short cut to feel better about life and themselves. Looking in their mirror would be like Dorian Gray to the max. Yikes.

As for the POTUS, he is a moron.

People are strange. Why would someone get upset because they are allergic to opiates but your husband was not? Ridiculous! I turned out to be horribly allergic to Oxycontin but that didn’t make me want to stop others from it’s obvious benefits, lol! I just wondered how poor Rush got addicted to this stuff. It’s pretty obvious: he wasn’t allergic to it.

Maybe I should give up eating peanuts. After all, there is some little kid out there who gets sick at the sight of them.

I can tell you for a fact morphine does not relieve pain for me. It does make the wall crawl however.
Heroin may in fact actually work. A bill was introduced 20 years or so ago that would allow heroin to be used with cancer patients, but the democrats shot it down. Would have cost nothing because they would have used confiscated drugs.

Same plant, different processing. Interesting how ONE process makes your wall crawl while the other may work.
I hope you get some much needed relief from you pain.

same with my grandma. but all i am saying is that some places have ‘policies’ to overdose the morphine to euthanize someone quikcer than they’d otherwise go.

One euthanizes animals, not people. Those that hurry up ANY human death before its time are murderers, plain and simple.

People ARE strange, YES!!
You are a mature person, wishing the best for others. You were obviously brought up with some good morals, maybe even Christian morals.

As for Rush, who KNOWS what he has gone through. I bet his medical file is as big as an urban phone book. Poor Rush, NOT good to have to deal with pain. It's a real soul killer.

I'm on Weight Watchers now so peanuts, ALL nuts, aren't on the 'simple start' plan. On this "simple start" plan there are no points to count nor are there any portions. I can eat til I pop. It does work, as I get on the scale every week and hear good news. For my daily points of indulgence I spend on a little helping (one little carton) of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. :o) Yummers!

I’ve been doing Weight Watchers, too. On line - only 26 points. It does work, however. I sneak in peanuts with my...ahem...one adult beverage every night.

I think Rush had terrible back pain. That’s one of the worst pains in the world!!! Then to have that horrible thing with his heart - horrendous. It must be the stress that gives him the occasional bouts of bad health.

What is the horrible thing Rush had with his heart?

A near collapse when he was on vacation - before he married Katherine, I think. He was in agony with pain around his heart and got Katherine to slip him some aspirin. He went to the hospital - and according to him - they couldn’t find anything wrong with him. A lot of people suspect it was a heart attack. He then praised the doctors and said we didn’t need Obama’s stupid Obamacare. I’m sorry, I can’t remember the year.

Well, they’re NOT going to be writing off liberal elites over the age of 75. George Soros will be ‘treated’ with the best there is as long as it can be pumped into him. Same with all the Hollywood bigs - and dem politicians.

What there means is members of the middle class over a certain age won’t be treated for cancer.

Knowing the thuggy nature of liberals I assume that age will be dropped to the the mid-thirties for anyone NOT a liberal.

Hey I agree....I believe Dr. Clark had a cancer remedy as well as many others, whom the FDA would arrest, if she were alive.

On line doesn't work for me. So I go to the meetings. In fact I try to go every day. I can't hear it enough. THAT way it does work for me.
26 points??? Ouch!
I'm on their "simple start." There is a rather large list of foods to eat, with NO portions and no calories. I can eat all I want and still lose weight. I didn't believe it until I tried it.
I did sneak in a little ice cream, a little box of DIBS. Mmmm, make me feel GOOD.

I think Rush had terrible back pain. That’s one of the worst pains in the world!!! Then to have that horrible thing with his heart - horrendous. It must be the stress that gives him the occasional bouts of bad health.

I would think that he would stop the stressful job. Stress is REALLY a soul killer. It's his choice...innit? I always like Rushbo. Good guy. He should go to WW too. :o) Wouldn't I just FAINT if he walked in.

Thanks—it is the simple truth encapsulated in a cathartic micro rant. Boils my blood to be robbed and scrutinized by the Peeping Pickpockets of DC.

Thanks for the info - I’ve heard that there’s been lots of progress in treating prostate cancer, and it’s good to know there are choices in treatment available rather than waiting passively when it strikes - even at 75.....
