TEA PARTY CONVENTION?
January 24, 2014 | Hostage

Posted on 01/24/2014 12:06:11 PM PST by Hostage

The Tea Party should hold their own convention one month prior to the GOP.

At first glance this seems symbolic only. But upon further reflection, some united statement coming out of a "Tea Party Convention" about who conservatives should vote for could have a chance to affect the eventual nominee. If we could at least get all conservatives voting for he same guy, it might reduce the dilution of votes that always get the establishment and media "their guy".

Thanks to Tenacious 1 for the above:

It can be done and I believe more easily than most would at first think.

For example, the Tea Party Convention could be a hybrid virtual convention where state TP delegations attend state convention centers with all conventions tied together in live video. No need to make one city the epicenter.

In addition to nominating a TP conservative a TP convention could adopt a platform.

Here’s why I think it’s a feasible and potent proposal:

The loose assemblage of Tea Party organizations has in the past and can again represent nearly 70 million Americans comprising conservatives, independents, libertarians, the blue collar Perot Bloc (more than 6 million) and Reagan democrats (more than 7 million). There will also be a significant bloc of voters that go with their perception of who will be a winner.

These numbers are possible and even probable given the grievances that most Americans have with both political parties today.

Republicans such as Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and other recent TP champions can attend both conventions. But their presence at the TP Convention one month before that of the GOP will empower them to be movers and shakers in the latter.

My own view above:

I’ve been floating the same idea for about a month now.

Tea party gets behind one in the beginning. Much easier to beat the GOPe that way.

maybe even send a GOPe ringer in too.

In 2010 The RINOs were happy to welcome the energy of those who were TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY.

Then in 2012 RINO John “Benghazi Coverup” Boehner refused to appoint a Special Prosecutor for Commie Obama’s IRS harassment of TEA Party Organizations.

Thus, Speaker Boehner became enemy number two for members of the TEA Party.

Additionally, the RINOs want to replace Obamacare with Boehnercare, Ryancare or RINOcare, which proves that RINOs support the continuance of the taxation punishment of working Americans by the illegal Commie mechanism of Mandatory Insurance Taxation.

Lenin would be very proud of Obama and Boehner.

Any support of Democrats or RINOs is support of Commie Obamacare or its neo-Commie derivatives.

Histroy has shown that most voters have made up their minds by July Fourth, and thus a Convention held after that date is pointless.

The best way to drum the RINOs out of the Republican Party is for a massive write in campaign.

If we want to change the Political Party Controlled Voting System, then we must use that system against them.

Only Democrats voted for Obamacare, therefore all Democrats are to be opposed.

RINOs propose “fixes” to Obamacare, therefore all RINOs are to be opposed.

!.) Send no money to the DNC or the RNC.

2.) Hold a TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY National Party April 22, EVERY YEAR FROM NOW ON.

3.) Flood the RINOs taxpayer paid office staff with all manner of irate communication every Wednesday FROM NOW ON.

4.) Write in or leave RINO slots blank on election ballots.

5.) Remember that as of 1-1-2014 we are now a Neo-Communist nation, thanks to Obamacare and our own sorry Congressional Cave In RINOs, and hold rallies and marches to remind the low information voter of that fact.

6.) In 2014 we boot out the RINOs.

7.) In 2015 and 2016 we give the “TEA Party Numerical Constitutional Rating” to any Republican or Independent Federal Politician.

I think you’re correct. Timing is everything. Early unity focuses unity on a candidate, or maybe two (instead of a dozen), and MONEY. I have concerns on the money.

Seems the TP does not pattern the RNC, by having our own war chest, one worth attracting candidates. Everyone else does, but not us. What do we offer candidates, but split between them six ways from Sunday and dividing our cash contributions?

Time is running short. How would the TP organize and get this done for 2016?

Consensus on an early TP virtual convention is to be decided, but the primaty debates is THE time of coast to coast passion.

Money could funnel in even prior to convention, if money is to be a real goal, to be set up for our “nominee”.

Hostage?

Sure, why shouldn’t they have their own convention before the GOP?

In comparisons and contrasts:
DNC=atheistic, socialist.
GOP=atheistic, fiscally and socially liberal capitalist.
TPC=atheistic, socially liberal and fiscally conservative capitalist.
Conservative=theistic, socially and fiscally conservative capitalist.

Hold it on the steps of the IR-SS. Ideas for poster images- nooses, pitchforks, torches, SS symbols (the world war II kind), etc.

If there is to be a convention, it has to be far earlier, perhaps when the primaries are about to start. One month before the GOP convention, the nominee will already have been selected through the system, and it will be too late.

I like the idea, but making it redundant because of timing would be unproductive.

We do need to try to settle on one candidate earlier, plus we need to strategize how to encourage as many RINO's as possible that they are presidential material and need to run.

The Tea Party convention should be the same week and the RNC.

The Tea Party fundraising power during 2010 badly scared the establishment. This is where the figure of nearly 70,000,000 Tea Party supporters came from.

Even if only half that number remain aligned with Tea Party issues, the fundraising power is enormous. The ebb and flow of funds creates uncertainty to the elite as to the power they are facing.

The IRS intimidation of Tea Party groups was/is designed to suppress this fundraising power of the Tea Party. It scares the ruling class.

The 50 million dollar figure spouted out by the US Chamber of Commerce is bluster, a scare tactic. They don’t have it.

But the Tea Party can get 50 million within days. Of course it is aggregated from many different groups. But it is very very significant.

Fundraising is essential, crucial, vital.

I am working on it 24/7.

I remember the primary debates as the most publicized period of all, the most valuable for voter educational purposes, but also divisive for the base, who had mostly already picked their favorite.

Somehow bookending the debates with regional events or rallies might lock in momentum for a nice chunk of time, going into the final curve of the calendar.

When you pencil out a chart for action, FReepers will knock you over trying to help and volunteering according to their own talents.

We need so many chiefs that there are no Indians. That way the head of the brain can’t get cut off.

That makes more sense to me, a judicious use of time that could be very effective.

As to the chiefs and Indians problem (no doubt wacis....or something.........), unfortunately it's more like herding cats (as someone astutely noticed earlier), our desire to be "right" 100% of the time hurts us more often than it helps.

What you say is true. Maybe if we chopped this plate full into an effort that was manageable; say, by regions and then districts, the cats being herded would at least be within reach.

This would require bringing in local TP groups in communities, who already have their own email list up and full of contacts.

Hostage, I would like to know, if you can say, what can be done about a trustworthy destination for early grassroots money?

This is the central question of which an answer will determine everything.

To me I immediately think of Sarah Palin or whoever she would endorse or ‘whisper’ to us.

So we have someone that can approach Sarah?

TP = toilet paper.

Just type it all out every time, “Tea Party.”

I have been doing that but you do realize that no matter what we say the people that hate us will always find a way to insult and demean us?

Yes, the haters can be very high school, very “mean girls.”

They’re all suffering from arrested development and the mental disorder of “liberalism.”

Too bad they hijacked that name, for they are anything but liberal.

It is a big question. Eric Holder will be anxious to interfere, if their are any *names* associated with our effort.

I would think we might like our very own PAC, controlled in a representative manner, but based around some instrument of candidate measurement, like a vote, a platform, or majority consensus, so that from the beginning everyone knows how our “nomination” will be decided upon when the deadline is reached to commit to one candidate.

My hope is we don’t discourage good people from running, but some kind of candidate threshold has to be met in order to beat the calendar.

You got me thinking. Seems we would need to be a 527 group and the first thing I would do is to study the history of such Tea Party Groups and their harassment at the hands of the IRS because I think it is still going on.

I have to step out now but will come back.
