More than 100 patients who had colonoscopies between 2011 and 2013 at Seattle Childrens have been advised to be tested for hepatitis B and C and HIV after the hospital discovered special equipment used in the procedures had not been properly cleaned. ... The hospital found that technicians werent sufficiently trained on the proper procedures, which led to the scopes being used again before they were ready, DiNuzzo said.
The hospital did not inform patients earlier because officials wanted to do a thorough investigation and not unnecessarily alarm patients, Zerr said.
From July 2011 to 2013, the hospital can't be sure that the technicians were cleaning the colonoscopes in the manner they were supposed to, Zerr said. These lapses on their own create a small increased risk.

No need to. Just eat a couple handfuls of sugar free gummy bears.
I watched my mother die an agonizing death from colon cancer. I’d rather undergo a colonoscopy any day.
thank you for that clarification
It’s a cakewalk compared to colon cancer.
My son had juvenile polyps, so they did a scope to remove them and check for any signs of cancer. 4.5 years old.
On Monday I had my 3rd colonoscopy. The cleansing stuff is much better than it was 10 years ago. I had two 6 OZ bottles of Surprep. You take one bottle and mix it with 16oz of water and drink it all, followed by two more 16oz bottles of water over the next two hours. Then you repeat this a few hours before your procedure. It really wasn't too bad and much better than dying of cancer.
I”m sorry for your mother.
Me, no history of any kind of cancer in the family, and the incidence of bowel cancer is about 25 per 100,000 people.
It’s absolutely nuts to undergo any kind of invasive screening with any level of risk with that low incidence. Scam!
Not true. You generally know what is going on, often watch the progress on the monitor, experience the discomfort, but don't remember due to the memory-blocking effect of Versed.
They quit harassing me after I said one time I would immediately dispatch myself if they ever gave me a cancer diagnosis. They haven't even mentioned colonoscopies and prostate exams since.
Moviprep and Suprep have a long list of contraindications and side effects and patients not infrequently vomit them up and have to cancel the procedure. One sued after becoming dehydrated.
Thank you.
Ask if you can do the magnesium citrate & dulcolax prep. Two pills and a eight ounce bottle of stuff is a lot easier then the gallon o slop prep they used to give you all the time.
Get a pack of Preparation H wipes for clean up.
The one thing you will want to do is make sure you drink as much water as you can as late as you can.
This is why the number of affected patients is as low as it is.
Seattle Children's Hospital in Seattle, WA is ranked nationally in 10 pediatric specialties. Seattle Children's Hospital is a 250-bed children's general facility with 11,427 admissions in the most recent year reported.
Read what Yehova says first:
Jeremiah 17:
[5] Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
[6] For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
[7] Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
[8] For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
You get what you ask for.

Colon repair surgery due to ruptures caused by colonoscopy, a fairly common event, differs little from colon cancer surgery.
.
I’ve know far more people that had colon cancer vs people who had a rupture during a colonoscopy.
Do yourself a favor, and quit resisting. I'll turn 60 in a few months, and had my first colonoscopy last week. As many will say, the toughest part was the prep, i.e. drinking a gallon of less than tasty liquid. I stopped after 3 1/2 litres.
They found a few polyps, all benign. I'll make a return trip in 3 years. Entered the clinic at 8:30, 45 minutes for prep and paperwork, under anesthesia for 45 minutes...one of the best naps I ever had, that was some good stuff! lol
Don’t forget the top “seat” of the shopping carts, where the little darlings leave pee and stool samples with regularity....
