The guest list for President Obamas upcoming State of the Union address just got more interesting.
Yesterday, Sean Hannity said hed be attending as a guest of Rep. Louie Gohmert. Hannity is a conservative pundit for Fox News. Hes had Gohmert, an outspoken critic of Obama, on his show a number of times. The Tyler Republican has even filled in hosting Hannitys show on a few occasions.
Turns out, Hannity may have his own political ambitions in the Lone Star state.
The answer is yes, Id think about it, Hannity said when a viewer asked via Twitter about his inclination to run for office eventually. It would either be in Texas or Florida. Hannity, who has indicated hes leaving what he calls anti-conservative New York, later contrasted the state with Texas.
How does Texas have a $12 billion surplus when theyre in debt up to their eyeballs in Albany? he asked. He indicated Texas and Floridas lack of income tax were appealing lures....

I listened yesterday, last night and today. He's not hemmng and hawing about anything. He's been perfectly clear that he's staying in New York till his son graduates and till his contractual obligations are fulfilled. He also stated clearly his move would be to Florida or Texas.
People just jumped into thinking he was packing up and moving the next morning when he made his first rant on radio...and so the "telephone game" of misinterpretations that we used to play as kids got started on the grape vine.
There's too many retired New Yawkers and liberal New Englanders in Florida for him to run for anything there. He'd do okay in a primary, but he'd be a special target in the general.
These eastern transplants bring their liberal cuckoo-ness with them to the Sunshine State....and they'd vote straight Democrat even if Charles Manson was one of their Dem candidates.
Sean would be wiser to move to Texas.
He'd make a dependably-conservative elected official, to be sure.

What? Stop that. Do not encourage him! Stop it, MinuteGal.
Hannity is a milquetoast. He won’t run. He never does what he says he will and he’s not particularly smart. Surprised anyone watches him.
Has he said why it’s between FL and TX? There are a lot of states out there. (57, if our prez is to be believed!)
“he’s not particularly smart..” are the operative words. Ayep....si.
He’s a multi-multi-millionaire. No state income taxes in those two states, IIRC.
Neither do Tennessee, Nevada or Washington, I don’t think.
Hmmm.
That's a fair question, IMO. He spent some time at Beck's setup in Texas, didn't he? Maybe he's thinking about going independent.
(Not sure I'd use Beck as a model, though).
He also said he was going to leave and it would take a couple of years. I think that he will leave. If he doesn’t... he has no cred left.
If sheila jackson lee can serve... Hannity will do fine.
That guy is a real bad actor but the commercial is funny.
True
Agree. It is a Streisand moment for the Hannitizer. I just hope he stays away from Texas. We are just now getting over Beck coming here.
And that's after having paid 64% of his income to state and federal income taxes. Only capitalism can produce success like that.
I always loved that original Pace ad. they have a new one now but it is not as good.
I was thinking the same thing, but he actually could be a very good House Rep.
He'd have to leave the broadcasting business, then spend at least a year or two getting to know the lay of the land from the people's perspective.
Spending "three hours a day" at Free Republic would get him up to speed pretty quick - wouldn't you say?
I was sitting at a table with a few cowboys in Waco back in the 80s. One of them picked up a bottle of Pace Picante Sauce and said “This shit’s made in New York City.” For some reason that cracked me up.
His show format is not for me. I don’t need to listen to his “good friend” Lanny Davis, Whorealdo Rivera or other left wingers.
It ain’t happening.
It was just Sean wondering out loud.
He’s staying on Long Island for the foreseeable future....
