PROPOSED MISSION STATEMENT, AMERICAN SPRING 2014 (MARCH ON WASHINGTON)

As we, the American people, see our rights diminishing and our Constitution violated daily, we have become alarmed. We will fight to preserve our freedoms, as Ronald Reagan warned us to do – lest we lose the country we know and love.

Here are our demands:

1. OBAMACARE MUST BE OVERTURNED. This unworkable system will destroy medical freedom, and will affect every area of our lives. Medical information in the hands of the Federal or State government will be abused, used to deny us other rights, or used to control us. The costs of Obamacare are so onerous as to deprive us of our financial freedom at the most perilous point in our lives. Obamacare takes away our personal, private decisions, and puts that control in the hands of a government bureaucrat. The Obamacare bill was passed on many lies, and now those lies have been revealed.

2. THE NATIONAL SECURITY AGENCY MUST STOP MASS-COLLECTION OF AMERICAN CITIZEN ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS. Not even George Orwell, who wrote the horrifying novel 1984, envisioned a world in which every communication was monitored and stored for later use. This information can be used to blackmail, to determine political leanings, and ultimately to imprison or otherwise deny guaranteed rights.

3. AMNESTY FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS MUST NOT BE GRANTED. When foreigners come into our country, illegally and with no respect for the rule of law, our laws are diminished. Our culture is diminished. Our individual votes are watered down. Voters become disenfranchised. There is already a viable system to become a legitimate US citizen. Our immigration system is not broken – it is not being given a chance to work. Most of our distant relatives did things by the law and correctly. These people can too. NO AMNESTY.

4. CALL OFF THE REGULATORY AGENCIES. Like petty little tyrants, hordes of bureaucrats are swarming across America, making it harder to keep a company in business. The economy is suffering under the incredible burden of over 13,000 new regulations since Obama took office. Jobs are not being created, jobs are being lost to other nations who have no such obstacles to succeeding. If we are ever to turn this economy around, we must control these regulating agencies (such as the Environmental Protection Agency) before they choke the very life out of the nation and the nation’s economic engine.

wellll..when Newt proposed his, "Contract w/ America" was a good start in '94.
any social contract must have teeth (w/no exceptions given)
if a Congresscritters; breaks the law, he pays the fine w/property & then (man.) hard prison time.
If a federal government agencies conives to subverts the law, it shall be "sundowned" within one Congress session.
Congress shall obey all laws they apply to the public first, for the 6 years before it's passed to the executive branch.

We have demands. Why would demands be a weak word? We cannot COMMAND. We cannot ORDER. Those words have meanings that we cannot necessarily back.

We certainly don’t want to SUGGEST or ASK or COUNSEL or REQUEST. We are in *somewhat* of a position of weakness but not *that* weak....

Starboard is right. Of course, we want freedom and liberty, but “Downsize DC” sounds more practical and less nebulous for those we want to attract who are not already on our side.

Well, start with this: At this point in time, the only similarity between Operation American Spring (those guys on the Steve Newton thread) and American Spring 2014, is two of the words are the same in our names.
