Gov. Cuomo to conservatives: Leave NY!
The New York Post ^ | January 18, 2014 | Aaron Short

Gov. Cuomo has a message for conservative Republicans — you don’t belong in New York.

Cuomo said Friday that members of the GOP with “extreme” views are creating an identity crisis for their party and represent a bigger worry than Democrats such as himself.

“Their problem isn’t me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves,” the governor said on Albany’s The Capitol Pressroom radio show.

“Who are they? Right to life, pro-assault weapons, anti-gay — if that’s who they are, they have no place in the state of New York because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

He added that moderate Republicans, such as those in the state Senate, “have a place in their state.”

Cuomo hammered Republican activists whose views he said were out of step with the majority of New Yorkers and said the party has to back moderates to have any hope of winning seats in this fall’s elections.

“You have a schism within the Republican Party,” Cuomo observed. “They’re searching to define their soul. That’s what’s going on . . . It’s a mirror of what’s going on in Washington.”(continued)

I left NY in 2007 and have never looked back. Took my multi million dollar business with me. The state income taxes that I don’t have to pay to NY cover all of my living expenses in Florida.
Now if we can only keep the liberal NYers from coming here perhaps we can avoid having Florida turn blue.

I'll bet Cuomo longs for the days when these signs were commonplace in New York....

Cuomo is one little Hitler, Bill de Blasio is another. I don’t think Cuomo will come out on top.

I’m beginning to think that by the time he leaves office, Cuomo wants Rhode Island to have more people than New York.

I think Sean Hannity is the last one.

In the last three days, I have seen threads telling that Cuomo doesn’t want pro-life people in New York, he doesn’t want Catholics, and he doesn’t want conservatives. Did all that come from the same speech?

There are still some red counties in every state.

Maybe they should ban together and form their own state if the governor doesn't want them around.

Romney did not win any counties in Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, or Rhode Island. He also only won county in Connecticut and Delaware. New England is where the most solid Dem strength is because it is in both urban and rural areas.

I encourage all conservatives to move here. All kinds of jobs and reasonably priced real estate and rentals.

Normalcy bias.
Because they enjoy 3 meals a day and somewhere decent to sleep, they won’t do a damn thing until it dawns on them that getting out of the “showers” _right_now_ is REALLY important.

12,000? Meh. Duly photographed, identified, and tracked. Their silent - or very public - disappearance will dissuade others.

The governor just made clear our kind is not welcome. It’s a warning. You may leave, or you will leave.

Fragmented and poor. They can be...dealt with.

You’ve been warned. Get out.

You’re really a sad case.

Do you know one definition of an oak tree? A little nut that stood its ground.

Those who advocate getting out of this wonderful state because Cuomo said so deserve to be driven out of their homes by mouthy would-be dictators.
