NYPD arrests man in a possible 'knockout' attack in lower Manhattan

A 24-year-old man punched a man in the nose in a possible “knockout” attack in lower Manhattan Wednesday, and was caught minutes later, police said.

Laval Woods of Harlem is charged with felony assault in the 2 p.m. incident for allegedly sneaking up behind the victim, who is 74, on Fulton St. and hitting him. A bystander saved the victim from hitting the ground, said witness Misha Erwitt.

I think Willie King has Laval beat hands down. He mugged 94-year-old Yolanda Gigante back in ‘96. Her name may ring a bell as her son is Vincent “The Chin” Gigante. Needless to say he pleaded guilty and I remember he begged to stay in jail.
