GLENDORA, Calif. -- Structures are burning in a wildfire threatening dozens of homes in dangerously dry foothills of Southern California's San Gabriel Mountains.
Television images showed several structures engulfed in flames fanned by gusty Santa Ana winds that spit embers across neighborhoods Thursday morning.
Evacuations are ordered for houses at the edge of the fire.

I can see a lot of smog over eastern part of Los Angeles County. The wind is blowing this way.

2013 was the driest year ever in Los Angeles. Only 3.6 inches of rain.
Records have been kept since 1877.

2013 was the driest year ever in Los Angeles. Only 3.6 inches of rain. Records have been kept since 1877. The 1864 drought, which devastated the cattle industry upon which Southern California's economy was based, was the worst in our history. This followed a rainy season that brought massive flooding to the Southland.

There aren’t a lot of Amishfolk in the Azusa area.

They arrested three idiots in connection with this fire..morons who have nothing better to do in their miserable lives than wake up at 5:30 in the morning and set a neighborhood on fire

The historic Singer (sewing) Mansion has burned to the ground. I have never seen a fire this aggressively fought with water-drop helicopters.
To: Deo volente
In this case probably not.

Winds are low today.
That's a saving grace here. It could have been much worse. There is a concern as the day goes on however that the winds could kick up.

Yep, the ass clowns do this every year, they see the high winds and think “Perfect, time to start a fire” a few days ago there was a fire in Pacific Palisades about 10 min from my cousins house but they put it out before it could do any damage..they havent said what the cause was but my guess, arson..I’m all for the cutting off the hands of these arsonists, I think that is a pretty good punishment for them
