The Obama administration announced Tuesday that it was delaying the deadline for people with pre-existing conditions to enroll in ObamaCare.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) said Tuesday that it was moving the deadline to March 15 from January 31, the originally scheduled end of the enrollment period.
"As part of our continuing effort to help smooth consumers' transition into Marketplace coverage, we are allowing those covered by (the Pre-Existing Conditions Insurance Plan) additional time to shop for new coverage while they receive the ongoing care and treatment they need," HHS spokeswoman Joanne Peters said in a statement.

That’s what I would have first thought, but what I’ve recently seen gives Queen Sebelius the right to do that. The papers give Obama the glory, but that’s not actually what is happening.

The Obama administration announced Tuesday that it was again extending the ObamaCare enrollment deadline for people with pre-existing conditions.
The administration said it will extend the Pre-Existing Conditions Insurance Plan (PCIP), slated to end January 31, until March 15.
“As part of our continuing effort to help smooth consumers’ transition into Marketplace coverage, we are allowing those covered by PCIP additional time to shop for new coverage while they receive the ongoing care and treatment they need,” Health and Human Services spokeswoman Joanne Peters said in a statement.
The deadline was originally at the end of December, but last month the administration pushed it back through January because of the problem-plagued HealthCare.gov website.
The new extension is just the latest in a string of unilateral delays the administration has implemented to buy time after the disastrous rollout of HealthCare.gov.
The Obama administration has so far delayed the premium payments deadline, delayed by one week the sign-up date for coverage beginning Jan. 1, pushed back by six weeks the sign-up date for those seeking coverage by April 1, and delayed the second-year enrollment period until after the 2014 elections.
The $5 billion PCIP program was intended as bridge health coverage to sick patients waiting for the full implementation of ObamaCare. The administration says that 135,000 have used the program at some point, but did not say how many were currently in PCIP.
An HHS official told The Hill there are less than 30,000 people still enrolled.
HHS stopped accepting new applicants early last year over fears the program didn’t have enough money to cover those that had signed up.
The American Cancer Society lauded the later deadline, saying it would ensure that sick patients won’t experience a coverage gap.
“Today’s announcement ensures that people with pre-existing conditions such as a history of cancer have lifesaving coverage under the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan through the end of open enrollment,” spokesman Steve Weiss said in a statement. “The extension gives cancer patients and others who had no health insurance options before enrolling in PCIP extra time to choose a marketplace plan that works best for them and their families.”
Maybe... it looks like in this case the Democrats engineered a gigantic shmoo of a law that lets them come pretty “doggone” close to it. The Democrat wish list was boycotted by the GOP — none of the debate and compromise which might have gotten some more sensible perspective in — and so it is pure Jackass Party.

Well this thing has enough shmoo power in it, probably, to let them do that if (make that WHEN) it blows up in their faces. The Queen (or maybe in future, King) of Health and Human Services will be instrumental here.
This could give GOP some breathing room. They should use it exceedingly wisely. I’d be pounding hard on the doors of the Blues et al, and telling them okay, you cheered for this thing, you saw what resulted, now how about engineering a path back to social sanity and when it’s ready, we’ll do a full court press to enable it.
In this administration, laws and regulations are made up as they go along.
Why wait?
No one should be registering at all.

Th lead up to elections will be a good time to get some vulnerable dems to move - and possibly afterwards if Rs take senate control - or come close.
I can’t wait to shove this back down THEIR throat and use the same strong-arm tactics they’ve invented. Deeming bills passed, faux reconciliation on nonbudget bills, IRS as a weapon, FBI as a weapon, appointing judges with no filibuster, and a lawless executive.
Until we get things back to normal.
Then, push them back some more and say “WE WON BITCHES”.
