...Afraid MSM Will Call Them 'Racist, Sexist, Homophobe' Fred Dryer, the former All-Pro NFL defensive end and Hollywood actor of shows like Hunter and Cheers, is furious at the Republican establishment for waging war against the Tea Party. He sees the establishment as surrendering to the mainstream media and accepting its stereotypes about conservatives.
Appearing on Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125 with Breitbart News Executive Chairman and host Stephen K. Bannon, Dryer said it was the "dumbest thing" for the GOP establishment to abandon constitutional principles when the country and the constitution is center right.

“Hunter” was a fun show. I just requested a couple of disks from Netflix.

I followed Fred Dryer as a L.A. Rams fan in the 70s. He was GREAT! He has an interesting record, tat may be tied, but never passed ... TWO unassisted safeties in one game against the Green Bay Packers.

The complete rundown of Dryer's terrific comments plus a nice photo of him can be found at the link. Worth reading. It sums up what we at FR have been saying for years about the GOP establishment.
It almost sounds like Fred is a Freeper!

GOPelites see the Tea Party, rather than the Democrats, as more of a threat to their comfy seats. They much prefer the status quo, because they still get their turn at the DC money troughs, even when they are the minority.

He's correct. Wagering the number of people who've dropped their republican affiliation for independent affiliation is quite substantial.
The political compass is pointing toward Tea Party and Conservatives, both of whom got them elected candidates in 2010. They'll be voting out RINOs in 2014, 2015, and 2016 - count on it GOP and RNC. Begin using the Ted Cruz model or become irrelevant.
To: MinuteGal
FR has come a long way - in the right direction. 10 years ago Fred’s message would’ve been unwelcome by the ‘in crowd’ at that time.

He said the Tea Party in 2010 tapped into the desire of Americans to restore the country to its founding principles and move it away from that "hideous beast," and the movement's success shocked the Republican establishment more than it did liberals. Fred Dryer's right on this... Great post - thanks.

Which probably explains why he hasn't been offered a TV gig since Hunter.
To: MamaDearest
people who've dropped their republican affiliation for independent affiliation is quite substantialIdiots should stay in GOP and vote for conservatives only in the primaries. No Cornball, Lindsey, etc. Leaving the party is no way to change it from within. Ultimately, their votes won't even be counted.

How can they vote out a RINO if they are not even in the party to vote in the primary? At least in the closed primary states
