(CNSNews.com) - President Obama says he will use his upcoming State of the Union Address to "mobilize the country around the national mission of making sure our economy offers everyone who works hard a fair shot at opportunity and success."
In his weekly radio address on Saturday, he outlined some of the steps he'll take to make 2014 "a year of action."
"Working folks are looking for the kind of stable, secure jobs that went overseas in the past couple decades. So next week, I'll join companies and colleges and take action to boost the high-tech manufacturing that attracts the kind of good new jobs a growing middle class requires," Obama said.

Have you ever asked yourself what happens when the givers run out of things to give? This is all going to stop... one way or the other.
Vermont is way ahead on this. Mandatory composting law.
The takers will come to directly take from whom they see as having more than they have.
Sure am glad I have Netflix.
There is no law that the House has to INVITE him... boehner could deny the invitation and he would have to give his SOTU address from the oval foxhole. boehner will serve cake and ice cream and bow before ba’al before he uninvites the dictator.
I’m ready for that... are you?
“I will mobilize the country around the national mission of making sure...everyone pays their “fair” share.
There, fixed it.”
C’mon now, he’s renewing the promise he made last year, and this time he means it. He won’t pull the football away.
“...take action to boost the high-tech manufacturing that attracts the kind of good new jobs a growing middle class requires,” Obama said.”
I would like a little clarification though on this “growing middle class”. Is this here in the US...or China?
“Im sure Ill be one of tens of millions totally tuning out obamas SOTU address. Let me summarize:
Blah, blah, blah.....”
More like “I blah, blah, blah, my blah blah blah, me blah blah blah...” for the better part of an hour, right off the teleprompter.
> Maybe theres an old Jimmy Stewart movie on at the same time.
What millions of Americans would give for a time machine about now. I can think of a Back to the Future moment I might go back to sometime back in 1960 in Hawaii but with the opposite results...: )
> Im sure Ill be one of tens of millions totally tuning out obamas SOTU address. Let me summarize:
Blah, blah, blah.....
More like I blah, blah, blah, my blah blah blah, me blah blah blah... for the better part of an hour, right off the teleprompter.
Plus a few hundred “I”s and maybe a few “me”s thrown in there somewhere
Bring back Americans jobs.
Fine. Explain exactly how. Be detailed.
He is stuck in 2009. The time when a good speach and some cool buzzwords could turn public opinion are over—the Keep your Doctor, {Perid think, killed his ability to do that. It only shows he’s really out of touch with America. His Yes Men are telling him he’s great and he believes them. Sorry, Mr. Obama, your day is done.
Ok here is a longer post I made on another thread. This is my proposal:
-
America needs import tariffs. We have exported far, far too much American industry to China.
This is a huge problem, because China has five times our population, and an average wage a fraction of our own.
America needs to bring back true American industry. How to do this?
I say, we need import tariffs.
After thinking long and hard on this subject however, the only way I can think of to introduce import tariffs such that they dont become a tool of Democrats, is a universal import tariff on EVERYTHING imported to America.
Oil. Food. Manufactured goods. All of it.
One. Universal. Flat charge on everything imported.
We however need to get started. America is in danger.
Dont allow China to become stronger than America. (which is happening right now)
America has never, ever faced a competitor in the globe of Chinas potential power. A billion people, all of whom will work (quite hard)
That will be the end. Period.
I like China. Quite a bit in fact.
But China is a very real, increasingly immediate threat to America.
I like China.
But I support America first.
“....making sure our economy offers everyone who works hard a fair shot at opportunity and success.”
.
We had that opportunity for decades until we decided to outsource our jobs.
Tariffs. THAT is your answer.
Tariffs, like communism, have failed EVERY TIME THEY ARE TRIED. And you want to repeat this oft-demonstrated mistake.
Ok, I have learned something. You may be successfully ignored. You got nothing.
Please add “Working age retired military veteran” or WARMV to the list. Thanks.
(1) Vote Democrats out of office.
(2) Rev up the freedom loving parts of our economy.
The first requires time spent in campaigning, volunteering to help others campaign, and money donated to worthy candidates.
The second can be enhanced by spending money with local businesses and people you know who share your values. Or steering opportunities to people you know who need work or projects.
The Soviets called it “Demoralization”.
