Ok here is a longer post I made on another thread. This is my proposal:

-

America needs import tariffs. We have exported far, far too much “American” industry to China.

This is a huge problem, because China has five times our population, and an average wage a fraction of our own.

America needs to bring back true American industry. How to do this?

I say, we need import tariffs.

After thinking long and hard on this subject however, the only way I can think of to introduce import tariffs such that they don’t become a tool of Democrats, is a universal import tariff on EVERYTHING imported to America.

Oil. Food. Manufactured goods. All of it.

One. Universal. Flat charge on everything imported.

We however need to get started. America is in danger.

Don’t allow China to become stronger than America. (which is happening right now)

America has never, ever faced a competitor in the globe of China’s potential power. A billion people, all of whom will work (quite hard)

That will be the end. Period.

I like China. Quite a bit in fact.

But China is a very real, increasingly immediate threat to America.

I like China.

But I support America first.

Tariffs. THAT is your answer.

Tariffs, like communism, have failed EVERY TIME THEY ARE TRIED. And you want to repeat this oft-demonstrated mistake.

Ok, I have learned something. You may be successfully ignored. You got nothing.

>>America needs import tariffs. We have exported far, far too much “American” industry to China.<<

Russia and Belarus, as the world most protectionist nations, has tariffs on everything imports.
They might didn’t have that much Chinese crap and still has industries running but you may imagine quality and prices, without competition.
Automatic transmission, ac and power window are still luxury extras in their overpriced cars, tvs became flatscreen just recently and at enormous price, a pair of ‘cheap’ shoes is no less than $100, a pound of dog food quality beef is $7.
And it is coming at average income of below $20,000 for Russia and half that much for Belarus.
If you are to allow this crap in America, you’ll have to buy a stripped down Chevy Volt for $70,000 and a ‘green’ domestic toilet paper fot $100 a roll, just to keep a certain classes fat.
You really need balanced approach here. ‘Free trade’ is not always good but it is that gives union thugs a reality check.
