A pimp is suing Nike for $100 million -- and says that its Air Jordan shoes failed to include a warning on them that they could be used as dangerous weapons after he used his own pair to beat a man.
Sirgiorgiro Clardy, 26, alleges Nike is partially responsible for Clardy's 100-year prison sentence for beating a man in 2012, The Oregonian reports. Clardy, a Portland-based pimp, was wearing a pair of Jordans when he stomped on the face of a man who was attempting to leave a hotel without paying Clardy's prostitute, the paper adds.
Clardy was found guilty of second-degree assault by a jury in early 2013. The victim received stitches and plastic surgery, according to The Oregonian.

James Lipton used to be a pimp! No foolin'!
Parade article. Is it true you were a pimp in Paris in the 1950s?
I was. It was only a few years after the war. Paris was different then, still poor. Men couldnt get jobs and, in the male chauvinist Paris of that time, the women couldnt get work at all. It was perfectly respectable for them to go into le milieu.
Prostitution?
Young women desperately needed money for various reasons. They were beautiful and young and extraordinary. There was no opprobrium because it was completely regulated. Every week they had to be inspected medically. The great bordellos were still flourishing in those days before the sheriff of Paris, a woman, closed them down. It was a different time.
How did your involvement come about? You became friends with one of the prostitutes in Paris?
We became great friends. When I ran out of money, I said, I have to go home. She said, No, you dont. Ill arrange for you. So she arranged for me to do it. I had to be okayed by the underworld; otherwise they wouldve found me floating in the Seine.
Did you represent more than one girl?
Yes, a whole bordello. I represented them all, but her especially. I did a roaring business, and I was able to live for a year. The French mecs didnt exploit women. They represented them, like agents. And they took a cut. Thats how I lived. I was going through my rites of passage, no question about it. It was a great year of my life.
Do you think people should buy sex?
I really dont. I think if you cant earn it on your own, then you dont deserve it.

Interesting. I’m wondering if the definition of “pimp” was the same back then as it is now, or if it meant he was just something of a “concierge” who brought business to the establishment. Since he refers to “the underworld” I’m wondering if they had “specialists” who would handle the rough stuff? Thanks for posting :-)

Portland is Niketown. I swear my Nike license plate holders got me out of a speeding ticket. The cop asked me if I was on my way to work, I said yes, and he let me off with a warning.

LOL! Holder’s people at it again. How is it though that he had to hand write all this and represent himself? Where is Holder’s Justice Dept? Seems they could be helping him...

I don’t believe it has been assigned to a judge yet. He just filed it. It doesn’t get assigned to a judge until after it has been served on all parties and the respondent has filed an answer.
Nike hasn’t even been served. You have to pay someone to serve it and I suspect this guy doesn’t have any money and nobody is going to do it on a lien basis.

* Unsubstantial. Shoes or not the result would have been the same on the poor chap’s head: being stomped on. If anything, the tennis shoes prevented unwanted exposure to biological agents.
Here. Send it to Nike, tell them they’re saving millions, bill them for a couple thousands. Master plan. I suppose I should include a mwahaha or two somewhere, but I’m lazy tonight

The twisted irony is, because of his present living situation, in prison, this guy may end up working for a pimp himself.
