PORTLAND, Ore. (CBS Seattle/AP) One Oregon mother says that she is unable to afford health insurance for her and her 18-month-old son because its too expensive.
Kate Holly, 33, tells KOIN-TV that she originally championed President Barack Obamas signature health care law because she thought it would help people in her situation.
Ive been a cheerleader for the Affordable Care Act since I heard about it and I assumed that it was designed for people in my situation, Holly, a freelance yoga instructor, told KOIN. I was planning on using the Affordable Care Act and I had done the online calculator in advance to make sure I was going to be able to afford it.

“...what kind of family man doesnt put his family on the work insurance policy?”
That’s the part I found most appalling. Before reading the story, I’d assumed she was a single mother. Might as well be. She could also think about getting a regular, salaried position that would cover her and with the joint income afford premiums for their child.
I do love these O voters getting gobsmacked by what they figured was only going to hurt others, i.e., those not in “HER situation.”

Way to kick your kid in the teeth, lady.
But...but, I thought it was free
Isn’t it fun living in a dumbass blue state Ping.
I’m guessing that the ‘husband’ isn’t really married to her and thus couldn’t put her on the policy. It is the only thing that I can fathom as an excuse for it.
Any job I ever took was predicated on the requirement that I could get health insurance for myself and my family. Money came second.
I guess liberals think somebody else ought to take care of that pesky need.
Yeah, you'd think at the minimum she'd be looking for a full-time yoga instructor gig with health insurance and other benefits. /s
(The "Unaffordable Uncaring Act" would be accurate, but "Obamacare" still has the better ring to it!)
Oh, so you're a business. We'll need the IRS to visit you soon.
Yugo — The cutting edge of Serbo-Croatian technology!
as far as I’m concerned, those who championed Obamacare have NO business caterwauling about it now. The only thing coming out of their mouths should be, “think I’ll listen to the conservatives next time.”....
and those O-bots should be reminded that every fiasco related to the epic fail that is Obamacare was PREDICTED years ago.
I’m not sympathetic to her problem, but a LOT of employment related coverages are dropping spouses and children.
It’s just too expensive for a lot of businesses.
And with jobs so scarce in the Baraqqi Depression, all the leverage is with the employer.
I don’t think they had a thought towards “hurting others”, just that “the rich”, who can easily afford it, would be footing the bill.
To them, it was all about the “free”.
PAJAMA boys SISTER. Keep voting DEMOCRAT you imbecile. The follow up question to ask her: “So you agree that Ted Cruz was right?”
And the thing is she would probably vote for him again. That’s the thing about idiots like her: The Marxist propaganda machine posing as our fair and impartial media in concert with the Marxist politicians have people like her so brainwashed that she would STILL vote Marxist no matter how many times Marxism screws her over. It’s fascinating, it really is. It’s like watching a person put their hand on a red hot stove, getting burned, then doing it again and again and again and again and again.
Nope, sorry lady, YOU are the “rich” Obozo has been talking about. Suck it along with the rest of us. Thanks for not listening to the adults before voting the for the Kenyan Communist.
Understand that this is probably a problem, but the husband ostensibly already had insurance through his work, I’m assuming unaffected by Obamacare before 2014
I had a co-worker (a fellow Captain when I was in the AF) who had a Yugo. I drove it once; what a complete piece of crap car!
