PORTLAND, Ore. (CBS Seattle/AP) One Oregon mother says that she is unable to afford health insurance for her and her 18-month-old son because its too expensive.
Kate Holly, 33, tells KOIN-TV that she originally championed President Barack Obamas signature health care law because she thought it would help people in her situation.
Ive been a cheerleader for the Affordable Care Act since I heard about it and I assumed that it was designed for people in my situation, Holly, a freelance yoga instructor, told KOIN. I was planning on using the Affordable Care Act and I had done the online calculator in advance to make sure I was going to be able to afford it.

These shmups probably drive a Yugo too...
Another Shocker!!!
Too bad, lady. It’s the LAW! Find a second job & pay up. Elections have consequences, & you’re now stuck with what you voted for.
“...she originally championed President Barack Obamas signature health care law..”
::::::::::
She was warned, even before he was elected the FIRST time. She got what she voted for. Another dolt of the electorate.
I wonder if there will be any way to calculate what the net LOSS of people covered by non-Medicaid health insurance is now that the law is implemented?
She better be careful. She may be audited by the IRS. She may be visited by others to see if her business license is in order. She may face other sanctions for daring to publicly oppose Obamacare.
And she’s the worst kind of critic, in that, she had supported Obamacare, but the reality of it is making her change her mind. She’s off the reservation, which is the worst crime you can commit in the liberal world.
Did she really call it the Affordable Care Act?
She’s qualified under her husband’s plan but doesn’t want to pay for it.
Sorry but you can have coverage but not for free!!!!
Reality is a bee-otch Holly.
People like this should bottle their tears and sell them. I’d like to have a vial from every State.
A couple of liberals if there ever were. She, a ‘freelance’ yoga instructor (that means whatever cash she gets goes in the pocket) and he works for a ‘non-profit’. Curious, he has healthcare from his work and doesn’t put his wife or kids on it - too expensive. Who in the hell, and what kind of ‘family’ man doesn’t put his family on the work insurance policy? He was working there before this PPACA came into mandate land. Bullshit.
Two lovable Americans that don’t have a carbon footprint, save that which it takes to raise two liberal children.
She and hubby make ‘too much’ to get a subsidy but life and expenses are just so damned hard.
Screw them. They voted for it.
Tell me more about this free lance yoga instructor.
Their combined income is too high to qualify for subsidies. That’s too easy. Get a divorce. Then you’ll qualify and then some! So long, American family.
Oh I hate when that happens...
Ahhhh-ohmmm-mmm-mmm!
Another NPR listener pulls head out of BOzo’s rear end.
That’s it exactly. She wanted cheap healthcare, and she can’t find any.
How does a freelance yoga instructor accurately report income?
It is a shame, but as she should know, it is the LAW. After all as Nancy Pelosi said we have to pass this law to know what's in it. I hope the useful idiot can not go back to Nancy and tell her that next time, lets hold hearings and understand what is in a law before it is passed.
Oh, and as Hilliary Clinton would say, what difference does it make now, really. I hope for the sake of the 18 month old that he is basically healthy and has an extended family that will pay for any medical expenses. Cash payments to doctors, clinics and medical travel to foreign countries are going to become a bigger part of everyday Americans lives as the ObamaCare gets more fully implemented.
I Cant Afford Obamacare For Myself, 1-Year-Old Son..
Ive been a cheerleader for the Affordable Care Act since I heard about it...
I’m very happy for her... dumb b8tch.
