Obama To Americans: You Don't Deserve To Be Free
Forbes ^ | 12/31/13 | Harry Binswanger

President Obama’s Kansas speech is a remarkable document. In calling for more government controls, more taxation, more collectivism, he has two paragraphs that give the show away. Take a look at them.

"... there is a certain crowd in Washington who, for the last few decades, have said, let’s respond to this economic challenge with the same old tune. “The market will take care of everything,” they tell us. If we just cut more regulations and cut more taxes–especially for the wealthy–our economy will grow stronger. Sure, they say, there will be winners and losers. But if the winners do really well, then jobs and prosperity will eventually trickle down to everybody else. And, they argue, even if prosperity doesn’t trickle down, well, that’s the price of liberty.

Now, it’s a simple theory. And we have to admit, it’s one that speaks to our rugged individualism and our healthy skepticism of too much government. That’s in America’s DNA. And that theory fits well on a bumper sticker. (Laughter.) But here’s the problem: It doesn’t work. It has never worked. (Applause.) It didn’t work when it was tried in the decade before the Great Depression. It’s not what led to the incredible postwar booms of the ’50s and ’60s. And it didn’t work when we tried it during the last decade. (Applause.) I mean, understand, it’s not as if we haven’t tried this theory."

Obama To Americans: You Don't Deserve To Be Free

When he looks at his core constituency, that's probably what he's thinking.

To Obama: You do not deserve to be where you are, living off the American people.

I don't think the Caliph has ever been subtle about his economic theories. And in 2014 America, they are shared by a possible majority of the population.

Obama has never worked. His handlers do the work for him and have been since he was weaned off of his commie mommie's teat. Obama wouldn't know work if it slapped him across his petulant, narcissist face.

That's obvious and cannot be repeated enough times. Why do you think he's been elected and re-elected by people who could not have not known it? Because the skin color trumps everything else including qualifications. And talent. Another example (and there are many): Whippie Goldberg. Because America worships the brown skinned gods from Mount Detroit!

America's healthy skepticism of too much government just keeps getting more healthy.

Americans’ skepticism of government, unique among democratic nations, is good and something to be proud of. Americans’ inability to realize that governments need to be thrown over every so often, is as unique, bad and shameful.

there will be winners and losers

Boiled down so crassly, yes, capitalism and communism might both have winners and losers, but...

Under free markets, winners are most often the ones that bring better products to customers. Losers are generally the ones whose products are falling behind in their competitiveness. The lessons investors learn correlate positively to merit. Do better, and the rewards will follow. If there isn't a direct trickle down, families, churches, communities, corporations and benevolent benefactors are present with charitable works.

Under Communism, merit plays a subordinated role to being an inside schmoozer and political correctness, which can disrupt if not obliterate meritoriously advancing trends. To wit, the "scientists" and their companies that align themselves with anthropogenic global warming, AGW.

Companies and insider-investors that bet on wind turbines may have done great financially even though several thousands of them can't be maintained cost effectively, and none have paid for themselves, absent their government incentive capital infusions.

When merit is the incentive, it's easier to pick the winners, to align with winners, and to make a winner of one's self. Society is better when movers and shakers in the community have legitimate pride in their own accomplishments.

When Communists dole out the bloated-tax loot on the basis of their best-yet-poorly-laid plans, and have to look upon their own accomplishments as a conniving used car sales looks upon how many dupes he's been able to fleece, it doesn't bode well for virtues or ethics in society.

While the failings of Communism have already quickly raced to the fore, e.g., ZeroCare, such can at this point in time still be compared (unfavorably) to the greatest health care system the free world ever assembled, as of just five year ago.
