...IS SURE TO SEND CHILLS THROUGH YOUR SPINE & TEARS STREAMING DOWN YOUR FACE Brenda Schmitz, a wife and mother of four boys, died of ovarian cancer at 46-years-old in September 2011 but what she left behind is undoubtedly generating tears around the world today.
One month before passing, Brenda wrote a letter to her husband David and had it sent to Des Moines radio station KSTZ Star 102.5 FM. Each year the station takes submissions and grants Christmas wishes.
On Friday, the station invited David to their studios.

Just heard this morning that a 10 year old boy, from where I teach has died in a car accident. His dad who I did teach, is in critical condition.
Prayers for this precious family.

Excuse me for the confusion, as I was not using “shame” in its strict meaning.
I just meant to say that it was too bad to make it so public.
A man being left by his wife through death is one of the worst things I see as a nurse. Men generally don’t handle widowhood as well as women and will even die soon after, especially if they don’t have others to help them.
Wow! What a video. The father was so down to earth.

We need more good acts to be known, not less. You’re right, shame was an inappropriate word to describe this situation.
Don’t fret your objections. The public empathy on this stuff gets old fast. And that’s not to dismiss the endearing stories closer to home.
Agreed. In this social media world, private moments seem to have almost disappeared.
