A decade before Scott Gurney created Duck Dynasty, he starred as a gay porn star in a 2001 movie called The Fluffer, an unmentioned but delightful fact in the background of the shows recent conflagration over Phil Robertsons homophobic comments to GQ. But its not a secret either; The Fluffer, which was an independent film that played at the 2001 Toronto International Film Festival, is right there on Gurneys IMDb page.
I called Gurney Productions which Gurney founded in 2005 with his wife, Deirdre to ask for a comment. I was told no one gets connected to Scott on the phone, and I should send an email. (I did.) A spokesman for A&E also didnt immediately return an email requesting a comment.
Gurneys character in The Fluffer is gay-for-pay and a meth addict. He becomes the object of obsession for a male film student who gets a job as his on-set fluffer. Its dark! It was directed by Wash West and Richard Glatzer.
Heres one of several YouTube odes to The Fluffer

It is obvious that the target audience for Duck Dynasty when it was created was those who would ridicule their backwoods lifestyles. When they discovered that the real audience was those who shared the values of this family of honest hard working Christians, they decided to sabotage the whole show.
The GQ interview was a set up.
"Little Boy Blue...."
BUMP!
I remember this movie being discussed on FR . I didn’t know what fluffier meant so someone FREEP mailed me to explain it . Folks here at FR are so helpful .
Deaths will outnumber births in Spain by 2017, experts say

Odd that you posted that today.
Illinois Natural Decrease: Census data show more deaths than births in more than half of states counties

In 2012, deaths exceeded births in 36 percent of counties in the United States, according to census data released in March.
The growing incidence of natural decrease in America has gone largely unnoticed, demographer Kenneth Johnson wrote in a report on the findings, but new data released on March 14 demonstrate that natural decrease is no longer an isolated phenomenon.
I wonder, do they count abortions?
I've never seen so much merchandising of anything in my life. I see DD stuff in stores that I have never seen stuff like this in. I've read that Walmart has some 600 different DD items.
Even my local grocery store has these in the aisles...
That may be the motivation of those who are publicizing the history of the guy who proposed the Duck Dynasty show idea, but it seems that it also shows that Phil Robertson, while a devout Christian, is also a tolerant person willing to work with people who have other beliefs.
Does anyone seriously believe that the Robertsons (and their attorneys, advisors, etc.) don't have internet access and access to Google or Imdb? I'm sure they look up the background of vendors and potential business partners just like every other business does.
I'll bet Mr. Robertson knew and knows a lot more about Scott Gurney than those writing about them in the press do. Mr. Robertson may have even felt that learning about his faith and his family could help Mr. Gurney in his own life.
As a senor citizen, I believe the future of America is looking extremely bleak.
I've wondered about this, what effect will their contract have on their ability to leave?
ICK
This just reaffirms Hollywood’s evil ways, not the cast of Duck Dynasty.
And Hollywood’s sick twisted side is not news.
Oh Rummy......Merry Xmas! And U know what?
Fluffer Dynasty will never work!
I remain a Holy Duck!
All this literally quacks me up!

I’m sure way back in the duck blinds of their minds they are thinking: “we made these guys what they are today — and since we made them we can break them.”
It's easy, just peanut butter, a couple of slices of white bread, and some Fluff. Some people might prefer the peanut butter without the nuts. ie, Skippy "Creamy". But then I guess it wouldn't be a true Fluffernutter then.
...and that does it my Sunday morning refreshment...
Now, that song is stuck in my head!! (And I'm revealing my age!!)
