Cracker Barrel said it pulled some Duck Dynasty merchandise from its stores over concerns it might offend guests, a move that infuriated thousands of customers and confused many others.
"We removed selected products which we were concerned might offend some of our guests while we evaluate the situation," Cracker Barrel said in a statement posted on its Facebook page.
The full statement read:
Cracker Barrels mission is Pleasing People. We operate within the ideals of fairness, mutual respect and equal treatment of all people. These ideals are the core of our corporate culture. We continue to offer Duck Commander products in our stores. We removed selected products which we were concerned might offend some of our guests while we evaluate the situation. We continually evaluate the products we offer and will continue to do so.
Cracker Barrel's statement led to confusion among some customers who wondered if the restaurant was removing Duck Dynasty products owned by A&E or products owned by the Robertson family's Duck Commander business.
Cracker Barrel did not return phone calls seeking clarification or comment.

No, I don't work at CB and I don't own any stock in them either. Just trying to clarify who owns the proprietary brands. It makes CB look bad in my mind no matter what they're removing.
Obama doesn’t know calf crap from Apple Butter.
The whole story is amazing, especially Terry Bradshaw riding the bench with Robertson the first string qb.
Dude. By now virtually EVERYBODY understands the difference between Duck Dynasty and Duck Commander.
That is not the issue.
Cracker Barrel is blackballing Phil Robertson because he didn’t worship at the altar of political correctness.
They are not, in any way, shape or form, “punishing” A&E
I haven’t been to one in years but I really liked their “Old Timer’s breakfast” Which I wittily ordered as the “Alzheimer’s breakfast”
In a war you need to make sure you aren't shooting at the guys on your side.
Does CB actually think the majority of their customer base cares so freakin’ much about homo PC that this will be good publicity? IDIOTS.
We ate at CB twice on a recent long road trip — once in Kentucky, once in Virginia. Both were disappointing experiences. Perhaps CB should worry more about food quality and less about pleasing the Liberal Gods of What’s In Now.
We love Cracker Barrel. But since they seem to think my Christian values might offend other customers the wife and I have another counrty style resturant we can go to that wont be so offended
Cracker barrell it was nice knowing you...

A TIGHT FIT.
Merry Christmas to you as well Faith! I think one of the differences between us is that you appear to be for unconditional forgiveness. I reserve giving forgiveness for individuals but not applied indiscriminately and not necessarily for corporate boards at all.
Obviously, I have not read that article. Could you provide a link? I agree with Phil on everything he said.
Check the "Social Responsibility" link in my post #22 in this thread. It's not at the same Cracker Barrel values that I recall from the first store over in Wilson County. They've turned their back on their Southern roots...the very roots that made them so successful.
