Obama administration relaxes rules of health-care law (EXCERPT FROM EARLIER POST)
Washington Post ^ | December 19, 2013 | Amy Goldstein

Another health insurance official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he lacked authorization to discuss the matter publicly, pointed out that the hardship exemption also gives one group the ability to buy coverage whenever they want, rather than during annual open-enrollment periods. As a result, he said, more people might not buy insurance unless they get sick. ... The insurance official suggested that some people who have chosen new health plans after receiving a cancellation notice might back out of their new coverage to take advantage of the administration's sudden offer.

Any more of this and insurance companies will support repeal.

Then watch to RINOs hop to it.

This administration has no idea WTF they are doing.

Everything they touch turns to sh*t.

Unless they continue to be threatened with worse consequences than they will have by going along with it.

Someone with a megaphone needs to say that

this proves that it is not possible for the government to implement something on this scale that affects all of the citizens of the country. It just can’t work.

To suggest that this is a case of “relaxing” rules is another example of liberal obfuscation and journalistic malpractice by the Washington Post. The Obama administration is not relaxing rules, they are re-writing them without input or approval from congress. This is freewheeling, on-the-fly law making by an administration that is deliberately avoiding constitutional processes.

Que the lawsuits. I have said from day one that 0zer0care will eventually die because of class action lawsuits against it. This is the one that will probably do it. Roberts twisted himself into knots to call 0zer0care a tax. The key to that is the mandate is “constitutional” because of the equal protection clause. But now that is violated because some people get exempted because they claim a hardship because they were cancelled. These hardship victims get a substandard plan at lower cost, or go without insurance AND avoid the fine/tax. But others that were cancelled (just like the hardship cases) BUT follow the law and get a govt. sanctioned full plan, but at HIGHER costs or they are subject to the fine/tax. That’s unequal treatment under the law and a violation of the constitution. No way the courts let this 0zer0 fix fly. To do so means the courts would be signaling their own lower status than either Congress or the WH as far as the separation of powers goes since this would allow the WH to not only enforce laws, but re-write them at will, without any court oversite. Substandard catastrophic plans have to be made available for everyone, and the fine/tax mandate can’t apply to anyone, which would obliterate the law as Roberts interpreted it. Or everyone has to have standard govt. approved insurance, and the mandate is applied to everyone uniformly, the way Roberts originally interpreted it. I think 0zer0 really stepped in it this time. Events are spiraling beyond the WH ability to control it now.

When I was a kid....NO ONE had health insurance. We paid the doctor and that was it. When I had my children circa 1964....we paid the doctor and we paid the hospital. There still was no insurance around. Then hubby’s job got unionized and we got free insurance. But we still paid the doctor. When my kids started working...they needed a physical...and we paid the doctor.

We already have an effeminate, unqualified, childish emperor

I am waiting for Americans to elect a horse to the Senate, and our fate will be sealed.

The insurance industry is getting what it deserves for attempting to profit from our misery. The only thing is we don't deserve it. If the insurance companies hadn't been greedy, they easily could've gotten the politicians they own to repeal this monstrosity.

The answer now is to drop the mandate and offer a catastrophic-only policy to those who prefer that. The insurance companies will still find a way to profit, as long as the feds butt out of their business. If they go bankrupt because of their greed, oh darn.

yup- then they blame everyone else....

this is nothing more than getting ready to place the blame on insurance companies in the future...companies are all ready set up to dump policies and not write future policies which don’t comply with dear leader’s wishes...

ayatollah obama needs an out as the sheet continues to hit the fan...the “we told the insurance companies they could continue with these types of policies”...

I was raised.....and survived.....with no insurance. We had to be sick to go and we paid cash. My 2nd real job I had insurance but!!.......I still paid cash and then had to bill the insurance company myself. Still had to be really sick to go since it took money.
They have turned it all into just a big money scheme now.
