We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support. The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E's decision. We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word. While some of Phils unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and Love your neighbor as yourself. Phil would never incite or encourage hate.We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty. Again, thank you for your continued support of our family.
But as a neighbor from that denomination says. He’s the “head of the family and his wife is the neck. Which ever way the neck turns the head will follow!”
Bttt
Where would a conservative network be broadcast? It would take a conservative cable company. Then the local governments would have to agree to allow them to provide service.
They’ve got a real strong foothold on communications.
Amen to that Brother.
I think A&E might change their mind.
Beck is on DishNet Ch.212 around here.If they did go to Beck, it could break the Blaze wide open. Other providers would then run the Blaze. It would be a blow to the msm....and cable in general.
I disagree...money still trumps political correctness, especially if the pile of cash is large enough. Duck Dynasty is the #1 reality series in the history of cable TV; the show pulls ratings that the broadcast nets would die for. Additionally, DD is a marketing powerhouse; sales of its merchandise totaled $400 million last year—and A&E not only gets all of the advertising dollars, they get a chunk of the merchandising profits as well.
That’s why Phil was “suspended” and not “fired.” I doubt you’ll find a single Christian in the executive suite at A&E, or its corporate parents, Disney and Hearst. But they all understand money and I’m sure the word has gone out: don’t lose the show. The suits will bow and scrape to the GLAAD crowd, but they will make sure that DD remains on the network. Not even libs will walk away from a multi-billion dollar franchise.
Personally, I hope the Robertsons walk. The line of networks wanting to pick up the show will stretch around the block, and a lot of folks at A&E will lose their jobs. Maybe they can land an internship at GLAAD or Media Matters
That’s good to hear from the family that they’re staying together.
And behind every great man stands a woman rolling her eyes
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Another "dunkin' Campbellite" here checking into the thread. We generally use a small 'c' for "church" but, of course, capitalize the 'C' for "Christ". Among other things, that syntax helps to distinguish up from the United Church of Christ, where obama listens to hate-filled screeds from the consistently wrong Wright. The church of Christ has about as much in common with the United Church of Christ as it does with Mohammedanism.
Most of our congregations sing without instrumental accompaniment. At our church, we do have services with guns since the preacher carries as do most members. Woe unto the thug trying to make off with the collection plate! Hot lead in the head...but a graveyard is nearby for his convenience. :)
Hook it up to your Wi-Fi and you're in like QB Matt Flynn.
Why buy out the contract? All the sons and Si have to do is make a public statement that they believe the same things that Phil believes on the subject and quote the Scriptures. A&E will then have to put them all on “indefinite suspension.” If A&E balks at putting them on hiatus for fear of losing a big money maker ... since the othes took the same public stand on their beliefs that Phil did, then it seems they would have to bring Phil back
According to another freeper, satellite will allow you to remove a program from viewing, from whatever satellite package deal you bought. This means you save no money, but you don’t prop up ratings for terrible programming, or support programming you object to.
Freeper said they try to talk you out of it, but will do it for you if you try.
Hope this actually works.
So will A & E make a million dollar backdoor contribution to GLAAD to shut them up and allow Phil to come back? I don't see Phil saying, "I'm Sorry" about his comments to appease the gay Nazi's.
Ahem. That's a very sensitive subject in these here parts. :)
On the other hand, Flynn's a Texan (Tyler) and beat a Yankee snob coach and a Wisconsinite with a touch of Mexican.
I like it. Suggest it to their website.
I am so glad the family will not go forward without Phil
Another thing to keep them guessing is don't plug the receiver into the phone jack. Never mind what they say the receivers work great without them unless you use Pay Per View. This way they do not know your viewing habits.
I wish there was a way to kickstart some conservative channels and shows
LOL
Over the Internet. There is PJTV and others. Time to put the internet channels together and stream them.
