JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A time to mend the divide; a sentiment that was met with a standing ovation.

The Duval County School Board voted unanimously to remove the name of a Confederate general from a Westside high school. School leaders called it a move for progress.

Forrest was a KKK member, So was Robert KKK Byrd. So naturally, we can expect Robert C. Byrd High School in West Virginia to be renamed soon...right? /s

Academic performance at all grade levels in Duval County is circling the bowl; the recently-appointed Superintendent of Public Schools is out of depth; highly qualified and effective teachers are either leaving or being driven off; and this is what the Duval County School Board thinks is important to focus on.
