Shame on the nutjob leftists who voted to take it down, still they are outvoted almost 4 to 1.
Tyranny of the minority. Is that what this country was built for. Our Founders despised Majoritarianism as in France, but I bet the only reason they never addressed Minoritarianism is because they didn’t think any part of the country would become this pathetic.
As others have said, California better start changing the names of all their cities, which have religious connotations.

Our founders DID address minoritarianism. That's why we're a Republic and not a democracy.
Franklin knew that a democracy was "two wolves and a sheep voting on what was for dinner" and said as much.

This judge like tens of millions of the American people must have “Stockholm syndrome”.
It’s not coming down any time soon. He gave them 90 days, then stayed his own order pending appeal. Supreme court cases have evolved since the last round, and they currently have one re: City Council prayers before them that may also have some tangential impact.
I say the judge must come down!!!
Cross has been there longer than he’s been on the bench I am fairly sure!
He’s a Bush appointee, and reportedly pretty unhappy about a ruling he had no choice but to make.
This poll needs to go VIRAL. Keep it going - off to repost.

Is that not majoritarianism? Where the majority is able to usurp the rights of the minority? That is essentially what a pure democracy is.
I was thinking of minoritarianism as some backward political correctness voodoo in which just because you’re a minority, you are awarded special rights, and essentially become cultural concentration camp guards, screwing over the prisoners, who actually outnumber you.
I stand corrected, and you're right; I can't think of any measures that the founders took to attempt to address minoritarianism. Perhaps someone else here is more historically informed.
They did know that they wouldn't get everything perfect, so they left the option open to amend the Constitution.
The Founding Fathers never saw political correctness coming.
So far, they haven't prohibited us to observe that which He did command us--the Remembrance.

Freeped.
I’m beginning to think that if we had a Democratic society rather than a Republic, popular votes would finally matter and tyranny would end.
Like all liberals, the judge needs to be purged.
