While certain Democrats remain undaunted in their insistence that the whole lot of ‘em are totally, absolutely, unequivocally going to be running on ObamaCare in 2014 and using it “as an advantage,” other Democrats are clearly feeling a little more… well, daunted.
When Sen. Landrieu learned that individuals who liked their health insurance could no longer keep it, despite the President’s promise, she wrote legislation to insure that the promise was kept. As a result, the President issued guidance allowing states and insurance companies to renew individual health plans for another year.
Dang. This is Landrieu’s first ad for the 2014 cycle, and she’s distancing herself from ObamaCare right out of the gate. I suppose there’s no point even pretending that there are other issues that will dominate over this one, particularly not in her state (Louisiana went for Romney by a whopping 17-point margin), so she might as well tackle it head-on. She certainly didn’t lead the charge to pass some kind of keep-your-plan legislation just for kicks, after all.
The democrats Mitch McDonnell or Lindsay Grahm
The political strategy for the last 50 years, at least, has been to buy votes with largess from the public treasury. Just do more of that, you imbeciles.
She voted for it and made it law. She owns it.
She knew this would happen. She is a lying _____.
Landrau should be thrown out of office even if she claims to be against Obamacare
I would remind folks how she pulled the wool over folks eyes with that phony sugar story she had planted in a newspaper on the eve of the last election she stole
Let’s all remember our most recent history....
Contrary to what Landrieu is spinning in her ad.... She was originally opposed to the public health insurance option in the America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 (HR 3200) until the bill was rewritten to send a $300,000,000 payment to Medicaid for her home state.
When two pages were added to the bill to place $300 million in Louisiana’s Medicaid system, she changed her web page in order to reflect her support of the program.
The deal is now and will be always known as the Second “Louisiana Purchase”.
Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh even called her a “high-priced prostitute”.
On December 8, 2009, she also voted against the NelsonHatchCasey amendment which proposed to ban federal funding for private plans that covered elective abortions but allowed individuals to purchase separate individual riders that would cover abortions.
On March 1, 2012, Landrieu voted against a measure that would have repealed a birth control mandate in the health care bill.
Of course, now that the bill SHE VOTED FOR has been founded to be a DISASTER, she then turned around and In October 2013, introduced a bill to force health insurance companies to re-issue plans which they have cancelled.
The woman has no principles at all.
Has Sweetcheeks signed up for Husseincare like she promised?
Start clobbering this lying sack of crap with refutation ads.
She must NOT be permitted to pollute more minds with her propaganda.
well said
Is her opponent decided yet? Because I am going to send that person money. It’ll be a pittance, but I’m sending it.
Did she read the abortion before she passed the abortion?
Now that the Democrats have stopped blaming Bush for everything that goes wrong, apparently they’ve entered a new blame-Obama era.
But how can such a strategy be successful? The Republicans and most moderates of Louisiana won’t vote for Mary Landrieu because she voted for ObamaCare, no matter what the President might have promised; but now, the pro-Obama Democrats will be angry with her too for attacking their Messiah. And what will happen if the egomaniacal Obama attacks her back for daring to imply he’s not perfect?
Bury this lying bitch at the polls in 2014.
It’s Louisiana...most of the voters are idiots.
“oink!”
I agree - she exists solely to stick her snout into the federal feed trough.
