capitalism works...but when liberal progressive leaders get voted into office - they use their “socialist” views to form and pass policy that favors their system over that of the competitive urge to do better that capitalism brings to the table...if left unchecked (which is what has happened since the 60’s) - it tears down the perception that capitalism has failed, where in reality it hasn’t - it’s just been infected with socialist policy from those infiltrators decades before...all of which was told by those in the 60’s on the dangers of allowing progressives into office or having any type of political/social/economic power or authority...

Simon views the social contract as the rich giving more and more to the govt for redistribution to the poor. However, the social contract goes both ways. He ignores the poor’s responsibility as citizens to get an education, get a marketable skill, be a good citizen, keep away from crime and drugs, etc. There are values and behaviors that allow you to flourish in our society and those that condemn you to failure. The lower classes openly and proudly reject the good and embrace the bad. The libs answer to this is to get society to embrace the bad so it is not held against the poor. That can never work. A society can tolerate 10% bums and 90% productive, but not 90% bums and 10% productive. That is where we are headed.
Even normal, everyday people say things like “Communism is good in theory” all the time. That kind of idiocy has been drummed into the collective conscience (maybe “collective conscience” is another). What sort of theory can be said to be good when it has failed each and every time at the experimental level? In theory, I could win the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.

An objective analysis of what the data shows is that in less that 11 months the US Federal Government can be taken over by militant, Left-Wing Democrats, and a bill turned into Law that Confiscates 1/6 th of the US Economy, namely Obamacare.
Could “Capitalism” have ever done such a thing? There is no known evidence to support that.
Thus, the above quote can only be ascribed to what The US Federal Government is capable of doing.

Actually, he has a point, but argues incorrectly.
There ARE two Americas.
One that Works for their living, and the other that VOTES for their living. . .
The irony is that it is true that there is two Americas, but it is the Left that created it. A couple of examples and reasons for the divide. The unions helped in creating the situation by shifting its priority from trade unions to public sector unions. Everything from the AFL-CIO is about increasing the power and wealth of its public sector workers. They are draining the resources needed by the private sector, thus destroying their own members in trade unions.
Feminism has had a hand. Gone are the days of the young lawyer marrying their secretary or the young doctor marrying a nurse. Today, lawyers marry lawyers, doctors marry doctors. Marriage was an institution that allowed class fluidity in the US, not anymore.
Illegal immigration has locked the poor into their condition. It is illogical that millions upon millions of cheap foreign labor has no impact on poverty amongst the native poor. The upper class liberals want the votes and also want to live like feudal lords with their available nannies and gardeners on the cheap.
Half the population wants to enslave the other half.
