Didn’t NYC once have a fine institution to care for people like MoDo? I think it was called Bellevue.
Evidently, as I noted on another thread, Google is planning to use manless drones to deliver search results right to your doorstep.
Wait til the drug cartels hear about these drones.
One lawyer is all it will take to bring this fantasy to a quick halt.
Come on, Mo - embrace change. Isn’t that what you wanted us all to do?
I can imagine the opportunity for crime, knock a few of them out of the sky, steal their merchandise. Even assuming they had some form of GPS tracking or alert system, it would take law enforcement time to be alerted and track down the felled drone by which time the perps will be long gone.
Classic case of hysteria
Look! A squirrel!
Pour that woman another drink. Straight vodka in a water bottle is what I heard she prefers.
Just think, they’ll be able to bring her a new broom whenever she needs a ride
“Mommy, the Drones Here! “
Something MoDo will never hear since she has never been able to hang onto a man long enough to get preggers.
In this singular instance, I agree with her.
I really think a commercial proliferation of drones (and government drones as well) is something to be dreaded and opposed in every way.
Setting aside all other problems with delivery or cargo drones: they make economic sense in some circumstances.
If you compare Amazon’s drone delivery costs, to ordinary delivery by van on a route; you get an idea of the premium for rapid delivery. If the drones are competing against courier services; then they might save a lot of money.
Long distance air cargo drones could save even more money for shippers. If crew costs are greatly reduced, then the most economical aircraft could be used, even if that meant going slower and taking a few hours more.
That said, I don’t want no stinking delivery drone in my neighborhood.
