MSNBC is still trying to milk this story, even though it’s old “news”. Their latest spin is that it’s all a fake plot by the Cheney family for some nefarious purpose.
The viciousness of the Left’s attacks is over the top. A difference of opinion or philosophy or ideology is just that. The Left is encouraged in their hatred of Conservatives by the Bamster and his sycophant Media.

Trying to make us think Liz is anti-gay marriage or pro-life probably at least until the election
Namely getting Liz elected to the Senate by portraying her as a tough conservative "fighter" who is willing to stand up on "principle" even if her sister severs ties with her over it.
I like to think so . . . and Mary should have NEVER disrespected her whole family by entering into a same-sex "marriage", a term that I really do not think applies to such an arrangement. But one of the main character flaws of homosexuals, in my observation, is that everyhing is about THEM. Never mind the embarrassment to the family, the deleterious impact on children that they bring into their relationship, and the adverse impact on traditional families in general, which in turn has a devastating impact on children from broken homes and single-parent families. But Mary and her "partner" are just fine with the negative influences they have because THEY are happy with their situation . . . screw everybody else.
The author of this piece does his credibility no good when he describes the lesbian pair as married without so much as a quotation mark.
It looks like a well-orchestrated piece of political theater.
Not that the Cheneys actually sat down and planned out the whole thing together -- but everybody's playing a role and everybody knows everybody is playing a role assigned to the them by politics and public image maintenance.
More chumpbait for the media to get worked up about.
I have read similar theories here on FR…. some here hate Liz Cheney and say that her statements about marriage are all just so she can get elected. It is not just the left who have a nasty tongue or pen

Liz Cheney has promoted gay marriage for years.
Liz Cheney supports gay marriage, homosexualizing the military, fought against DOMA, and even against a constitutional amendment, and was happy when the state department went gay.

Liz Cheney only switched positions for this campaign, after years of being pro-gay, and pro-gay marriage.
The Cheneys have been dedicated to this cause for years, Dick Cheney wanted to run on it in 2000.

At least that’s what she said in 2009, in an interview with MSNBC, of all places. At that was a time when the notion of same-sex marriage had considerably less support.”

You seem to have changed your tune, weeks ago you were merely defending the idea of her being for gay marriage.

single deal breakers have cost conservatives many an election. Social issues are a concern but mean NOTHING if we are a bankrupt third world nation with a jobless rate that would embarrass any other ‘civilized’ country
