I am the furtherest thing from being a social liberal My comments that you quoted are still true.
re: your previous post you show quotation marks can you tell me what source you are quoting so I can se it.
Would you acknowledge that there are Tea Party people out there who might be more of a libertarian bent than you?
I’d like to strengthen this observation. My son recently quipped that Narcissus by definition must have been a homosexual since he loved himself (my kids are classically educated so they actually know who these Greek heroes and anti-hereos are). I’m no psychologist, but it stands to reason that homosexuality is the ultimate form of narcissism. Their relationships center around self-gratification of their flesh and any discussion higher than animalistic urges turn to intensely self-oriented opinions. As you put it It’s all about them.
LOL, first you deny your own posts indicating your social liberal arguments for Liz Cheney, and then you want to start trying to paint a false picture of the tea party as being made up of social liberals, or libertarians, when the opposite is true.
“””I like to think so . . . and Mary should have NEVER disrespected her whole family by entering into a same-sex “marriage”, a term that I really do not think applies to such an arrangement. But one of the main character flaws of homosexuals, in my observation, is that everyhing is about THEM. Never mind the embarrassment to the family, the deleterious impact on children that they bring into their relationship, and the adverse impact on traditional families in general, which in turn has a devastating impact on children from broken homes and single-parent families. But Mary and her “partner” are just fine with the negative influences they have because THEY are happy with their situation . . . screw everybody else. “””
That isn’t what happened, the Cheneys are pro-gay agenda people.
05/09/2012 Gay Conservative Groups: Good Obama Adopted (DICK)Cheney Position On Same-Sex Marriage:
Both groups, Log Cabin Republicans and GOProud, also made specific mention of former Vice President Dick Cheney, downplaying Obamas statement because the Republican embraced same-sex marriage first.
07/30/12Dick Cheney Defends His Silence On Gay Marriage In 2000:
WASHINGTON Dick Cheney says he didnt see the point of raising the issue of gay marriage in the 2000 presidential campaign, even though he supported it.
The former vice president suggested it wouldnt have done much good and probably would have sunk President George W. Bushs prospects for office.
02/17/2012Dick Cheney Part Of Marriage Equality Lobbying Effort In Maryland: Report:
WASHINGTON Dick Cheney is part of a lobbying campaign to convince at least one Maryland state lawmaker to back marriage equality, the Baltimore Sun reported on Thursday. Since leaving the vice presidents office, Cheney has been increasingly vocal in his support for same-sex marriage, but the extent of his engagement on the issue was not previously well known.
I cannot prove it, but I suspect that deep down, Dick and Lynn are traditional in their beliefs. Polictics and their relationship with Mary probably had a huge bearing on what their public position is. I doubt they are thrilled that Mary is queer and married to a woman. . . . IMHO
The evidence is that Dick Cheney is a strong and rock solid supporter of gay marriage, and even wanted to promote it a decade and a half ago, if he could have.
The Cheneys are just a pro-gay agenda family.
I did not say that the tea party os made up of social liberals. Apparently reading comprehension is not your strong suit.
Since you would rather twist the words I wrote I will not reply beyond this post. I do not know what group of tea party folks you associate with but the ones I know and have worked and campaigned with are small government folks. The majority of them are conservatives but not all of them. We find issues we can agree upon and work like hell on those.
Go back to your single issue voters and good luck in the next election. Even Ronald Reagan wouldn’t satisfy some folks today. He wisely said he would gladly work with someone who agreed with him 80% of the time.
Your social liberalism was laid out pretty clearly there.
As far as the tea party, the tea party is more “religious right” than libertarian.
Libertarians/social liberals make up a small portion of the tea party, most are religious social conservatives, more religious than the GOP is, half of tea party people actually identify themselves as part of the religious right.
Liz Cheney has promoted/supported gay marriage for years.
Something that we never got from her 46 years of life, and her many years in politics, is a pro-life, or anti-abortion position, until this campaign of course.
