According to radical activist and Weather Underground co-founder Bill Ayers, American leftists were duped by prevailing conservative narratives into believing that President Obama himself was a tried-and-true leftist, and not the middle-of-the-road politician he declares himself to be.
Speaking at a Washington, D.C., book store last Friday, Ayers explained that despite living near Obama in Chicagos Hyde Park neighborhood and crossing paths many times during their activism, he never viewed the future president as a dedicated leftist like himself.
The remarks came in response to a question about whether Ayers ever doubted Obamas credentials as a true progressive or man of the left.
He was a community organizer, to his great credit, Ayers told the crowd, but all through the 2008 campaign Barack Obama said, whenever asked, he would say, I am a moderate, compromising, pragmatic, middle-of-the-road, politician.
However, Ayers said, conservatives managed to convince themselves that Obama held deeply-seated socialist views, while the left believed the president was
The right-wing looked at him, and said, No, hes a secret socialist, palling around with terrorists and Palestinians; he has a fiery black nationalist minister; hes probably a black nationalist on top of everything else. And the left wing looked at him and said, Hes winking in our direction, I feel it.

In other words, Obama was too much of a chicken @(#* poser to blow up anything until he had the US military under him to to it for him.
Ayers is a koolaide ladler.
Technically Ayers is right. Obama isn’t a pure socialist, more of a leftwing fascist.
Just like a follower of the ROP, Ayers lies with ease and aplomb. What a buffoon. Unfortunately he and his managed to get O elected
What kind of reprobate thinks O’Bastard is a moderate?
More of the “leftism is the middle” crap...
There's many, many wonderful things in his Dreams from My Father. I think it's a marvelous book. I know I wrote it. [Audience laughs] So, I ought to know how marvelous it is. Um, you know, my own criticisms of Obama never go to the point of, uh, the kind of racist sh¡t that you hear all the time, and the idea that he couldn't write Dreams from My Father is one example of that. Of course, he wrote it. But there's a lot of indications in that book of how a community organizer thinks, and I think those are the marvelous passages in that book.
One needs to ask if there are any other examples of Obama unassisted waxing so eloquent on any subject, including community organizing.
Obviously, Ayers can't actually admit authorship, because that would damage the Progressive Cause (even as Obama's usefulness to it ebbs). But it's fun to kid around.
Great thoughts Maceman. I’m taking that post and using it liberally at later dates.
I find left and rights love to stroke their intellect by arguing the differences. Who cares, it all needs to get wiped out.
I find it encouraging that Ayers has such a stink of desperation about him.
Billy the Bomber is practicing some strong Taqiyya. ‘Free as a bird, guilty as hell’, indeed.
Exactly. Remember Ayers and the SDS and the Weathermen came out of the anti-draft, antiwar movement. Ayers is probably about 15 years older than Obama and they came out of somewhat different founts of leftism.
They are both far leftists but in different ways. Obama is more anti-white, anti-Christian. Ayers is pure hippie: Not a racist nerve in his body, one way or the other. Everybody is OK except the warmongering government.
There are many leftists in my neighborhood who are to the left of Obama. On the war issue, and on other ties to the power structure.
Completely a schtick for the benefit of public consumption. Watch what he does not what he says. Since the beginning, Matt Welch had Obama pegged in every speech he says things both ways....
Ex.
“Obama aims to be the president of all Americans, a position that appears to be sincere. But I wonder whether in the process he might also want to consider appointing himself chief executive of his own head. All night long, with equally sonorous vigor, he served up confident assertions, only to state moments later, with equal conviction, their near opposite.
“We will rebuild, we will recover, and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before,” Obama crowd-pleased near the beginning, in the slot normally reserved for lines like “the state of our union is strong.” Not long after, though, Americans learned that our very “survival depends on finding new sources of energy.” Also, “there will be no real recovery unless we clean up the credit crisis...our recovery will be choked off before it even begins,” and if we don’t do whatever Obama wants us to do about the banking system, “it could result in an economy that sputters along for not months or years, but perhaps a decade.” Better! Stronger! Crippled for a decade!”
BUMP
Remember these words mean different things to commies than to the rest of us.
Obama has betrayed traditional liberals Ayers is just giving cover to Obama's left flank not to protect Obama, who is disposable, but to maintain the phony left/right paradigm which blinds the public to the Globalists behind the curtain.
Obama is nationalizing healthcare, but no, he isn’t a socialist. /s
Lies to throw off the LIVs.
Wouldn’t fool many others besides LIVs
Ayers compounds and distributes the Koolaid. This drivel is the marketing for the New! Improved! Koolaid! Now With More Authoritarianism!
This meme:”Obama is a Centrist.” isn’t even new. The more leftward of our leftist clients have been dissing zer0 as a Republican for over two years.
Since zer0 is so pragmatic, he won’t hold Ayers’ pragmatism against him.
I love middle of the road politicians, and wish Obama was more in the middle of the road, too: it makes them easier to run down.
