The state Board of Elections on Monday certified Democrat Mark Herring as the winner of the Nov. 5 election for Virginia attorney general.
Herring, a state senator from Loudoun County, beat state Sen. Mark Obenshain (R), by 165 votes out of more than 2 million votes cast.

Old Democrat standard-bearer Howard Dean must've put in a campaign appearance ....
I don’t think that is a good idea to give up Virginia and classify it as dead. If we do that, we better find a blue state that can turn red or we are done winning Presidential races for real. We cannot give up on Virginia.
The Democrats have been at war with conservatives for years. We’re just catching up to that concept.
Yes, their method is: CHEAT
Nice going, Virginia. You now have your very own mini-0bama/Holder combination....
I bet George Washington is denying in Heaven that he came from Virginia these days.
Virginia, once a red state and then a swing state, officially goes blue. The Demcorats completed a sweep of all statewide offices in Virginia.
That’s ALL statewide offices.
The GOP needs to find a way to make up the loss of VA (and frankly, Colorado). We’re running out of options, fast.
Here’s a disturbing fact:
In 1988, Bush Sr. won the Presidency. The next Presidential election for us is in 2016 - that’s 28 years since Bush Sr. won. That means that when we go to “pull the lever” for President in November of 2016, the Republicans will have brought out more voters to vote for their Presidential candidate than the Democrats will have brought out for their Presidential candiate exactly ONE TIME - Bush in 2004 over Kerry - in TWENTY EIGHT YEARS.
That’s the state of our country right now. Center Left and going further Left every day, and going Left in every swing state. Sad.
A Democrat sweep indeed at a time when the Democrat fraud was being clearly exposed for the low-information voters. VA is just another form of MD now for all practical purposes. VA people are indeed Stuck on Stupid.
Did ol’ John Warner ever officially switch parties? He should have long ago.
I don’t know about Warner. I left Virginia six years ago after fifty years.
So now the GOP will have no premier candidate to run for governor in 2017, and with Obenshain’s loss there will be no one to run against Kaine for senate in 2018.
Post 27 is spot on. Just imagine the electoral map after amnesty.
Anyone with a brain knew when the vote got that close, the democrats would steal it. They have perfected the art.
The State of Virginia has officially been taken over by the enemy. The governor, lt governor and now the attorney general. The GOP can now concentrate on other states that can be won in 2016, especially Ohio. Go ahead and concede Virginia to Hillary Clinton. It’ over there. Please do not spend one cent in the state.
It's the demographics. The 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act (passed against overwhelming public opposition) changed the face of America. It took a couple of generations, but the change is complete.
Case in point, you mentioned the '88 election. George H. W. Bush captured 59% of the white vote and won a landslide victory. By contrast, Mitt Romney last year also captured 59% of the white vote yet went down to defeat.
Demographics is not boding well for us.
No, it’s not. Which is why I find the GOP’s current reliance on low turnout so maddening.
We need to be working on our outreach. Instead, we just talk louder to ourselves. That’ll work for some states, but fewer and fewer each election cycle.
It’s not demographics. It’s 110 percent of registered voters voting in inner cities. It is complete and utter fraud. Shame on the American people for letting the communist enemy get away with this.
Yeah, let's keep blaming voter fraud while thinking we're doing everything right.
Dude, go outside and take a look around. The country has changed.
Exactly. That’s a loser’s lament, and conveniently excuses us our mistakes.
We need to make better arguments. Instead of talking to ourselves we need to make sure others can hear.
We have a winning message, if only we can be bothered to make the case to people who don’t already agree with us.
RiNO's are not about guts or about going at anything.
They're about cashing checks from their donors, for delivering on tax breaks and reducing regulation. That's all they have time for. Obamacare? Voting rights? Electoral sanitation? Gun rights? They couldn't care less.
Thumb in the eye to every white Texan, it's raw ethnic bloody-shirt-waving politics and it's deliberate. The mayor of San Antonio is pushing it -- his mother tried this 20 years ago and got slapped down by the Texas governor and legislature.
