Time magazine calls the Affordable Care Act a "broken promise" on the cover of its latest issue. The image splits a pill with "Obamacare" inscribed on it in half, separating "Obama" and "care."
The cover story, by Nancy Gibbs, looks at how President Barack Obama needs to fix what has been a disastrous rollout of the federal health law and fix it fast:
So the sign that the Obama presidency had reached a turning point came not when his poll numbers sank or his allies shuddered or the commentariat went hunting for the right degree of debacle to compare to the rollout of Obamacare.
It happened when he started apologizing. In triplicate. For not knowing what was going on in his own Administration. For failing to prevent his signature achievement from detonating in prime time. For not telling the whole truth when he promised people that Obamacare would not touch them without permission: "If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan."
Here's the cover:

Well, you know, there's a lesson in here for all of us. I mean, the events as they unfolded couldn't have been scripted any better for maximum booty-kick, indulgent in the limelight of the world's gaze fixated on his arrogant, wannna-slap-the-smug-shyt-right-off-his-pansy-a*sed-face, his ears configured for maximum lift as he gets the word that he's number one on his fantasy runway, as he begins to soar his ears angling for maximum lift, on all that hot air, all that 'twas ObamaCare.
But if Obama is to be have his goose cooked and achieve his lame duck status in record time, ObamaCare must continue to resonate as one of the greatest political follies of all time.
It would have been better if reports like this came out four years ago when the law was being debated.
TIME is only four years late. They’re catching up!
But that would've required the media to read the bill, understand it, research it and analyze it.
Too hard!
I wonder how many votes that cover will garner for GOP House and Senate candidates next year? Seriously. If it’s only 1 percent, I’ll take it. Just sayin’
Being on the cover of Time magazine is significant, because it is often an inverse indicator. This represents a turning point in Obama’s presidency.
Most telling is that the concern for Obama is highlighted, while the part about YOUR health care requires reading glasses
"But I'm not stupid."
That liberal Time magazine is both willing and able to decry Obamacare indicates it has hit a new low. And a new crest in the willingness to criticize Obama.
I think Clinton’s statement about Obama needing to keep his promise broke the dam with liberals. And liberals are piling on Obama and blaming him so that their whole party isn’t blamed (though it should be).
In short, if they jetison Obama, the party has a chance. If they keep him up as a mascot and he falls, the party won’t be around in three years.
It’s all part of the plan. Create chaos, divide your enemies even those within your own party, distract the country with other issues, then come to the rescue with a single-payer system. It’s so diabolical and as predictable as the climax to a B-rated movie. This administration, from the top down, is staffed by Marxist punks. They are criminals. They hate this country and they hate free enterprise. They have declared war on achievement and competence. For a detailed report on the situation, pick up a copy of “Atlas Shrugged.”
Is it a fold-up cover by Mad magazine’s Al Jaffee? Time is a joke, but this time it looks like the joke’s on Soetero.
I did . . . 48 years ago.
The media pushed his candidacy in 2008, failed to give him a proper vetting, hid all of his negatives, and slimed Hillary in the primaries and McCain in the general election to put Hope and Change into the White House. Now that this presidency is clearing imploding the media and the rest of the libs are jumping off the train before it goes off the cliff and takes them and Queen Hilary’s presidential chances with it. What goes around comes around and now the entire liberal establishment is in survival mode now for backing the president.
Unfortunately, we have the Republicans we have in Congress. This is the moment to pass a bill for repeal.
Put the Dems on record as seeing all the problems with it and still supporting it.
Watch as this cluster continues to fail and Obama’s polls drop, he will go to the old “it’s because I’m black” trick.
Fredo Corleone is the president.
" I aint stupid! I can handle things, I'm not dumb like everyone says!
If that’s the case how do you think black voters will react to that? Will party come before race in this instance? The white ruling class of the Democratic Party has a dilemna on its hands. Throwing the president overboard to protect Queen Hillary’s presidential chances and their own hides is going to antagonize the most loyal faction of their party. I’ll answer my own question. For black voters, race matters more than loyalty to the Democratic Party. The Democrats will have their own civil war to deal with in the near future.
