Democratic Sens. Carl Levin of Michigan, Mark Pryor of Arkansas and Joe Manchin of West Virginia broke from their party and voted against changing the rules.

That means extra ammunition for the winnable 2014 Senate races against Landrieu (LA), Begich (AK), Hagan (NC), Warner (VA), Udall (CO), Harkin (IA) and Udall (NM) ... to name a few.

Their opponents should bash them continuously over this vote to piss on the Constitution.

To me this is a pretty clear indication of where the Dems feel they are in the process of converting our Republic into a Socialist State. They’d have never instituted this rule change if they thought the Republicans would EVER get to use it in the future. They are confident in their ability to steal elections at all levels and are certain they will now remain in power indefinitely. Exercising the nuclear option is evidence of that confidence. Watch for a flood of federal judicial appointments. I suspect we are now done.

Since a simple majority can change the Senate rules, there are as a matter of practice no rules now. So, Harry could adopt the UN Treaty on Gun control w/ 50 votes. Poof! No more 2nd Amendment.
