To me this is a pretty clear indication of where the Dems feel they are in the process of converting our Republic into a Socialist State. They’d have never instituted this rule change if they thought the Republicans would EVER get to use it in the future. They are confident in their ability to steal elections at all levels and are certain they will now remain in power indefinitely. Exercising the nuclear option is evidence of that confidence. Watch for a flood of federal judicial appointments. I suspect we are now done.
I agree they believe this is their endgame...or at least a major portion thereof.
In a few weeks or months, they’ll try, and succeed, in applying this to other legislation.
Hitlery remains silent, gleefully anticipating taking the power.
And all the while we will see wicked men being appointed to positions of authority, and nothing legally in the Senate to stop them.
But hey, some folks here are fine with that.
