DEVELOPING: The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to block controversial Texas abortion restrictions that have been called some of the strictest in the country.
The court by a 5-4 vote denied a request by Planned Parenthood to block a ruling by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, which allows key parts of the Texas abortion law to stay in effect while the case plays out.

If you'd like to learn to fish, rather than merely taking that single fish, I'll show you how and where to cast. The Supreme Court's website is http://www.supremecourt.gov/. I'd bookmark it.
Once there, hover your mouse over "Opinions" on the left, then click on "Opinions Relating to Orders." The top two (Planned Parenthood...v. Abbott) are the ones you want: Breyer's is uppermost, labeled with "B," while Scalia's has "AS" (to distinguish him from Justice Sotomayor). Bear in mind that these are merely the justices' comments on the fact that the full court voted 5-4 not to consider lifting the Texas court's stay of the lower court's injunction. So the Supreme Court hasn't heard this case, but only decided not to hear it.
Double-click on the case name--then read it on Adobe Acrobat Reader (which is a free download if you don't already have it).
I'd stand back, though: Scalia gutted Breyer (along with Ginsburg, Kagan, and Sotomayor) like you'd clean a fish, and you won't want their intestinal contents all over you.
By the way, if you enjoy that reading (and Scalia is by far the most entertaining Justice in decades), you may want to start glancing at the actual Opinions (shown on the right: Burt v. Titlow, etc.). Although they're often dozens of pages long when counting the concurrences and dissents (these folks do like to write, after all), each Opinion begins with a three or four page Summary. I read all of those and then read the actual writings once-in-a-while if interested.
Thanx, faithful.
They haven't even decided that. They refused to overturn the 5th Circuit's stay of the district court's order while the case is on appeal to the 5th Circuit. The 5th Circuit hasn't heard the case yet, much less ruled upon it. Once the 5th Circuit rules, the Supreme Court could grant cert. (Assuming the 5th Circuit reverses the district court, we know that there are 4 votes to grant cert, although the liberal may not vote to hear the case iof they think there will be a 5-4 affirmance.)
That, of course, is what I meant, but I’d already gone on too long to knarf.
Where did you hear that Breyer is homosexual? He is married and his daughter is an Episcopal Priest.

Police sources: Attack appears to have been random

Supreme Court Justice David Souter suffered minor injuries in the attack, a spokeswoman said.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — U.S. Supreme Court Justice David Souter was assaulted by two men Friday night and taken to a hospital with minor injuries, a court spokeswoman said.
The incident occurred while he was jogging about 9 p.m. Friday, said Kathy Arberg, a court spokeswoman.
Law enforcement sources told CNN the incident occurred near the Potomac River waterfront in southwest Washington, not far from Souter’s home.
Arberg said that the motive was not robbery, but law enforcement sources said it appeared to be a random attack.
Arberg said Supreme Court police escorted the justice to Washington Hospital Center. He was examined and released about 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
He suffered “minor injuries” and is “feeling fine,” Arberg said.
She could not characterize the nature or motivation for the attack, and said only that young men were involved.
Souter is an avid jogger.
well, SCOTUS knows they will most likely get to look at again

BTTT!
Thank God for Texas. Now to help keep her winning, we all need to work with our time, talent and treasure to defeat the upcoming push for amnesty.
If amnesty passes in this country, Texas will begin turning purple then ultimately blue.
We need to fight amnesty. Call, write and attend town halls and express your opposition over and over again. Send a few bucks to TRUE conservative candidates in republican primaries this spring...no matter where they are in the country.
@$$e$ like McCain, Graham, Cornyn, Boehner need to be thrown from office if we stand a chance to defeat this horrible legislation.
Thanks ColdOne.
