North Texas Drivers Stopped at Roadblock Asked for Saliva, Blood
NBCDFW ^ | November 19, 2013 | Scott Gordon

Some drivers along a busy Fort Worth street on Friday were stopped at police roadblock and directed into a parking lot, where they were asked by federal contractors for samples of their breath, saliva and even blood.

It was part of a government research study aimed at determining the number of drunken or drug-impaired drivers.

"It just doesn't seem right that you can be forced off the road when you're not doing anything wrong," said Kim Cope, who said she was on her lunch break when she was forced to pull over at the roadblock on Beach Street in North Fort Worth

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which is spending $7.9 million on the survey over three years, said participation was "100 percent voluntary" and anonymous.

But Cope said it didn't feel voluntary to her -- despite signs saying it was. "I gestured to the guy in front that I just wanted to go straight, but he wouldn't let me and forced me into a parking spot," she said

An agency spokeswoman sent an email confirming the government is conducting the surveys in 30 cities across the country in an effort to reduce impaired-driving accidents.

I’ve got to believe they weren’t particularly interested in the “breath, saliva and even blood.” The purpose of this exercise was to gauge how compliant the local population is - just in case there is future need to, say, load them into cattle cars or something.

They are testing to see how far they can push people. It will only get worse.

I can't be pushed without pushing back. Now is the time to raise Cain with elected officials to get a stop to this, and get it defunded.

Before some hothead does something that will be regretted.

Eric Holder hates Texas and I would bet he was in this to target Texas. He especially hates Attorney General Abbott
‘cause Abbott takes him to court and beats him every time, even at the Supreme Court level.

I can tell you when Rick Perry was informed, he immediately called Abbott, as Abbott is the legal arm of Texas.

What has happened is that the “people” have become complacent with violations of our rights to the point that the Constitutional guarantees have become negotiable.

No one is held accountable for Constitutional infractions because after all, EVERYONE DOES IT!

The fear of the common citizen to even challenge violations is so great that they go along to get along instead of standing up for their rights. It has become so common that you can see it every day at the nations airports with lines of zombie like zombies walking with their mouths open and their eyes unseeing through TSA lines and by watching their children violated with communist indoctrination in our school systems.

It’s the “boiling frog” syndrome except the boiling water is not water, it’s the heat of the friction as our rights are being stripped away at light speed.

Abbot has more executive authority than Perry anyway, the way the governorship is set up.

Not as many do that now since some squat to pee. For the rest, that may be their last opportunity for a statement of non-compliance. Oops, I missed. Sorry.

Make some calls, send some emails and see if we can get our elected officials to put a stop to this crap. We need to melt down their phone lines/email servers or they'll think we don't mind.

Yep, at that point you only know three phrases:

Am I free to go?

Am I being detained?

Under what probable cause am I being detained?

Beyond this, at a "voluntary" checkpoint you are mute. Good time to turn on at least the audio recording feature of your cell phone.

Best I remember there was over seven (7) bullet holes in the houses in the back-ground. So who were they trying to kill?

“Honestly all the crap going in in Texas lately is not lending any credibility to “don’t mess with Texas”

Well, let’s step back a bit and see how Texans deal with this obvious invasion by federal fascists. If Texans can’t stop a couple dozen federal fascists from messing with the freedom of Texans, then we need to reconsider the phrase “Don’t mess with Texas.”

It was part of a government research study aimed at determining
how SHEEPLE the American public are. This is only a test,
pay no attention to Stalin behind the curtain.

SEIU thugs are not armed and manning road blocks with the power (not constitutional authority) to detain and arrest.

Make your voice heard, Texan. Otherwise, they'll think we're ok with it. We found out during the shutdown that politicians don't like their phone lines melting down with angry voters.
