In the home stretch of the 2012 presidential campaign, from August to September, the unemployment rate fell sharply raising eyebrows from Wall Street to Washington.
The decline from 8.1 percent in August to 7.8 percent in September might not have been all it seemed. The numbers, according to a reliable source, were manipulated.
And the Census Bureau, which does the unemployment survey, knew it.

I think more of Obama’s men are going to prison than Nixon’s men...
I don’t have all the numbers, but I think we did see a lower turnout that projected. Additionally, Romney won the independent vote which McCain did not, so he picked up votes in some areas and not others. There definitely wasn’t the turnout needed from base voters to win. The left got their voters out much more than expected; ours less. I don’t think there was a massive conservative non-vote, but definitely some. I think most engaged conservatives were chomping at the bit to vote Obama out. There were likely some categories...Ron Paul types, certain religious leanings, etc that stayed home for a variety of reasons. If there was a massive turnout from conservatives of all stripes, the election would have looked a lot different. If not a victory, certain a narrow loss vs. the significant margin we saw.
Time for the pitchforks and an attack on DC.
It is you that needs to do some research. Romney received fewer votes than McCain four years earlier. The difference in those numbers mostly represents the Kamikaze Conservatives who stayed home and allowed Obama to win, thereby teaching the evil Republicans a lesson about RINO's, Mormons, or something.
There is no service, administration, commission, agency or bureau that has not been corrupted. Probably irrevocably.
There were two factors for the relatively low GOP turnout -- some 4-to-6 million short, as I recall.
1. Some conservatives stayed home. For sure.
2. The Republican GOTV effort was a total failure; Romney's touted computer-guided effort was a bigger flustercluck than Healthcare.gov.
I've no idea how to allocate the shortfall.
That is exactly the point those conservatives that stayed home were making. The GOPe deliberately gave conservatives the finger, betting they wouldn't do anything to protest.
How's that working out for ya?
Romney was certainly not my first or second choice but better than Obama by a long shot.. Frankly Johnny, or any other FReeper out there passing the GOPe BS, I’ll expose their real agenda if I have to pay for an investigation myself..
I suspect there are more than a few Obamites posing as REAL CONSERVATIVES, and stirring up shit to keep us divided and in disarray.. I’m not accusing anyone just yet, but I have a suspicion that we need to pay close attention from now on to the midterms..
None of this is a shock to any of us but the low info idiots bought this crap hook, line, and sinker.
Exactly. If you’re going to tell a huge lie...tell a HUGE lie.
It’s like when Kim Jong Il claimed he shot 38 under par on a regulation 18-hole golf course......including 5 holes in one! That score is 25 shots better than the best round in history, and is made even more amazing by the fact that it was his first time playing the sport. If you’re going to lie that bad why not just say you shot an 18.
That said, there are a fair number of us who are tired of the GOP attempting to be dem-lite... And we're really tired of being asked to back a liberal Republican (who will lose) when Democrats are running the most liberal person they can find.
It's time for us to run a conservative.
I suspect many of those 'fake' letters that are written in dem war rooms are sent to Republican office holders.
It's why our people are so out of touch with their base. Rush Limbaugh was the first national person to catch them calling his show... it was so great. 'Democrats pretending to be conservatives' would call and say, "I've been a Republican for thirty years and loved Reagan BUT... then they'd go on to trash Republicans. One day Rush caught the pattern. Hannity caught on too. Liberal newspapers never figured it out because they didn't want to know the truth. The lies allowed them to hate us. Which they wanted to do..
FOX New with Bret has the same crap going with their silly meter that shows dems and republicans thinking alike. It's dreadful. They need to dump that or screen for REAL dems and republicans... Hey Bret - dems lie... they lie for advantage. Quit being a fool Bret... really please...
After his (t)oss to Obama in 2008, you never saw any man on earth fight as hard as John McCain to keep that Senate seat from JD Hayworth in 2010. He even got Sarah Palin to go to bat for himagainwhich is saying something when he calls other Tea Partiers like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and Rand Paul “wacko birds.”
Where was this mighty, hard-hitting colossus with named McCain when Barack Obama was running against him?
That’s the GOPe for you: at war with its base and at ease with the Democrats.
Listen my FRiend, I do understand how we have been had by weak-kneed representatives, but that doesn’t prevent us from being vigilant in our areas of expertise, primarily FREEREPUBLIC..
This is, and always has been, the cornerstone of conservative dialogue on the internet.. I have been watching several FReepers that can disrupt a thread without notice, and with help from unsuspecting Friends..
They do it with catch phrases, hot button issues, and with intended consequences to divide and conquer.. All I am saying is to be aware and report any possible trolls, and put an end to their games..

“The GOPe deliberately gave conservatives the finger, betting they wouldn’t do anything to protest.”
Gee, so you stayed home and look what happened, we got four more years of Marxism. I don’t think Romney was a Marxist. Thanks for nothing. Your “protest” really worked out now didn’t it. Of course “ you really showed them” that you couldn’t be pushed around. I hate the GOPe with a vengeance, but not voting is just plain stupid. None of the above is not one of the choices on the ballot.
That's what I marvel at. That if you had to remind someone to vote in the 2012 electionespecially if they had a computerthey probably weren't going to vote for Romney.
