Senate Democrats do not expect to vote on the ObamaCare fix the House approved on Friday with 39 Democratic votes, according to a senior Democratic aide.
The aide said there is not any pressure on the Senate Democratic leadership to bring the legislation sponsored by Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) to the floor.
"There is a difference between constructive fixes designed to improve the law and bills that would gut it, said the senior Democratic aide. The Upton bill is the latter.

You’ve said it all! Reid is truly the Marxist’s little b!tch, whiny voice and all.
I am just hoping my Senator who’s up for reelection (Thad Cochran) gets beat or decides not to run.
He already has a very worthy opponent who’s already doing a lot of campaigning!
Cochran said he’ll make his decision by the end of this month.
Just because Obama says he won’t sic the feds on companies selling illegal policies doesn’t bind the public. How about an insured who has a claim that is not covered under an Obamafix policy but would be covered under an Obamacare policy. What’s to stop those people from suing?
That is a perfect analogy...an empty wheelchair. I imagine one of our gifted and talented FReepers could make something like that ;-)
Nope. The House GOP will keep pushing the bills to dismantle Nobamacare piece by piece and at some point they're going to really put Rats between a rock and a hard place. This is just the first step.
What this did do is give the appearance that there is a serious distancing of Rats from Obama. We already knew there was a revolt in the Senate, but this revealed one in the House.
Obama is close to being irrelevant and Rats who care about their future are going to have to side with the GOP to save their hides.
Sign onto a bill which reverses the lousy effects of Obamacare and tells people they don't have to use the exchanges?
I don't think so.
Don't forget: that's a medical device. So there's an extra tax on it.
This is good if the Senate sits on it. We need to win the Senate and it would be great to have a very large majority.
If I were an insurance company, I would very much worry about how much a promise from Obama is worth. I don't think I'd risk putting myself in a position of having to rely on one of Obama's promises.
democrat
He made all kinds of waivers and pushed back the employer mandate for one year and nobody challenged him. Why would he think he’ll be challenged on this? And not one reporter yesterday asked him where he gets the authority.
Don’t expect the LIVs and media to stop supporting him. They’ll be back in line blaming the insurance companies and the republicans for not having a plan.
Good! The bill was worthless.
The house needs to pass a REPEAL bill every damned week and send it to Dingy so he is forced to defend the Obamacare train wreck WEEKLY. Every damned WEEK!
Absolutely.
Note to all congressional Republicans: Do not accept any dinner invitations from your 'friends' across the aisle.
Roberts did conservatives a good turn in deciding that the Obamacare law was not constitutional.
According to the US Constitution, a law passed by House, Senate and President is law, no matter how bad said law might be.
Looking at it another way, imagine what Democrats would have done had the Obamacare law been declared unconstitutional.
Personally, I think Roberts might have saved America from our totalitarian opponents.
Tell that to Justice Roberts.

Your Upton has a much better chance of getting approved by the Senate.
The mandate forcing Americans to buy something they don’t want is still the law. Obama’s ‘fix’ only says that they will not enforce the law regarding substandard plans, into next year. This catastrophe is unfolding much as we expected it would, but the upholding of it by the Supreme Court allows this to drag out very painfully and unnecessarily.
Look how badly Obama is breaking the law by changing it, totally beyond his constitutional authority. Our health care system is in crisis due to the lawlessness of the president and his minions. Justice Roberts did us no favors with his ruling.
