WASHINGTON - President Obama will allow insurance companies to continue offering individual health plans that do not meet the standards of the Affordable Care Act through next year, according to a Democratic source on Capitol Hill familiar with the plans.
The plan, which the president will announce Thursday morning, is intended to placate millions of consumers who have received cancellation notices from insurers in recent weeks. Obama had repeatedly promised that consumers would be able to keep plans that they liked.
The president was under intense pressure from Democrats on Capitol Hill to find a fix. House Democrats have increasingly threatened to support a Republican proposal due for a vote Friday. And Democratic senators have offered their own legislative fixes.

If some of these insurance CEOs do not speak up now about the dangers and failures of government intrusion, they are just as much of the problem as the socialist leaders.
All Hail Lord Hussein!
they haven’t spoken up so far, even after they’ve been dragged through the mud for the past 20 years.
Typical MSM -- just report the press release.
it’s only for 1 year...enough for the elections of 2014. Then they revert back to the same bullcrap of permanent cancellation. Once the Dums win the election, they wont give a rip.
It sounds like what he’s really saying is, Ted Cruz had a great point!
I thought this was the LAW and could not be changed come hell or hi water....wait till next year after the elections... yeah that is the idea
He will “allow it”? By whose permission will he do that? Another executive order?
No. Repeal and replace. Nothing less. Now.
Just like immigration policy... It’s too much work to enforce the law so we’ll ignore it.
I wonder if anyone on the left will be offended by the concept of the president “allowing” something to be sold...
Update: Another reminder from Team Klein that todays fix is something that was already available:

Most insurers have the option to “early renew” policies in December 2013, to last through Nov. 2014 under current law.

Insurers could have extended canceled plans for another year, but why would they? That would only complicate the new risk pool created by ObamaCare. Go figure that they need more revenue from the healthy to pay for preexisting conditions for the sick. The scapegoats are unhappy:

More from insurance industry source on WH O-care fix: “This is a joke - doesn’t change anything but allow WH to blame insurance companies”

BS “allow” .... Write it down & PASS THE LAW !
That’s nice. But if it’s not profitable for them, they’re not going to do it. Socialism sucks. Repeal Obamacare and go back to free enterprise. Government is not the solution; it is the problem.
A shameless political ploy to get democrats through the 2014 elections. He thinks Americans are idiots.
He’s right about 53% of the time.
Dictators are cool
Can’t wait until there is a right wing dictator in the WH, lots of things to dictate on
“Obama will allow ...”
Sounds like he’s our Supreme Dictator who can determne unilaterally what will and will not be allowed.
I pray the Republicans will not negotiate nor attempt to revive this “landmark legislation” foisted upon us by the fascist, totalitarian, narcissistic piece of garbage and his apparatchiks and sycophants desecrating the halls of our Constitutional Republic.
They will somehow try to shift all the blame on insurance companies.. wait and see.
