The portion you posted does not say “capricious children and women (who) rule[d] them.” Do you know what version author uses? And what version did yours come from?
Also, in a subsequent post you mention Sarah Palin and I just want to clarify whether or not you are saying that Sarah Palin is the kind of woman the author (and possibly the Scripture portion) is talking about.
Thanks! Just want to understand this portion better and how to apply it to my understanding of the world today.

The point about Sarah Palin was that men apparently have shied away from leadership even among conservatives, and the evidence is that their leader was a woman...Sarah Palin...not that she is an ungodly woman.
I agree with your post. I would add that, generally speaking, we are not electing these men to positions of power (to rule over us, if you will).

Usually when the bible is quoted anywhere on the net and opinions follow, I’ll grab the bible and see for myself, usually to find the verse was misquoted or misinterpreted (ie - Sell your cloak for a sword, often misinterpreted IMO). This post was dead on.
I really believe Christian men need to study up on this subject. We have become soft. My problem has always been the New Testament and never seeing anything about physically standing up to tyranny and evil. It’s all about love and faith which I understand but when or how does a believer confront issues we face today. At some time the gloves have to come off. Can the gloves only come off when the Govt says so as when they declare a war? Can men declare war?
Yes, we have a lot of tough guys today (huge athletes, MMA guys, brawlers, muscled ghetto thugs etc), but no tough guys to lead the good cause and have the courage to make a stand against the forces that are getting stronger every minute.

God has turned America over to its retrobate mind. The Bible says He will and He has. America in my humble opinion has been judged. It has been found wanting. America will fall. God is going to see to it. A lot of Bible believers say “where is America in prophesy? Surely a great nation like America should be mentioned.” Well, it is. America, or whatever it is called by then, and under some type of flag, maybe the Antichrist’s new flag and not our current one, will gather with all the nations of the world at the Valley of Meggido. There, what was America will get its final judgment as it is destroyed along with everyone else. God gave us what we wanted. America wanted a homosexual loving, baby murdering, Muslin, Jew and Christian hating thug. It got it. Great job America. Now, those who can, get on your knees and ask the Lord for forgiveness while you can. Time grows short. He is coming!!!

Now what I’m about to write is in no way stating that this is the definition of a man.
Look at the 70s and more to the 80s. Hard Rock, Metal, LA Metal bands. These guys dressed and looked effeminate but NEVER acted it. They wanted and got women and levels that are incalculable.
If you gave them lip the brawl was on. They didn’t put up with crap and said their mind. Now one could say that is immaturity and I would not disagree. My point is that today’ effeminate boy/teen/man is nothing like the guys 25 years ago.
Also notice it’s mostly white boys/men. Black and Hispanics not so much.
Thanks for the response. I just re-read the portion you posted and see that the NIV says “women rule over them” in v. 12.
What a crock! God is not doing anything of the kind; the blame is on all of those who voted for these RINOs and democrats, who refused to vote for someone whose positions or religion does not exactly match theirs even though it meant that this Nazi regime would stay in office. God let’s you dig your own hole to hell and it is up to you to pull yourself and the rest of the country out of this mistake. You can pray for relief until you’re blue in the face but God isn’t going to sweep them away in a flood or rain of fire when the needed changes are up to you.
so what do we do? Just get run over? Die off? Let our kids get the brunt? When is it time to get it done?

If so, they’re way off base, at least for me. Give me Gerald McRaney, Tom Selleck, Brian Dennehy, Bruce Willis, and guys like that. The metrosexual look is a major turnoff.

You may be very well right but just to accept it is more than a bitter pill. I guess if one was old with no children I could see accepting this possible inevitability, but if you have kids, I hope their is a better way.

You hit exactly on something I’ve wondered about myself! Altho, I tend to look at the entire Scripture rather than just at one part or another (ie, the Old Testament AND the New rather than the Old VS the New). When I look at the “whole,” I do see instances of physically standing up to tyranny and evil.
But the question still remains for me: What are we supposed to DO about this horror we face? I don’t like the feeling that I’m being steam-rolled and unable to DO anything about it!
