US President John F. Kennedy would have urged Britain to stay within the EU, former foreign secretary David Miliband has claimed.
The ex-Labour MP made the bizarre suggestion in speech to mark the 50th anniversary of the assassination of the former president.
Mr. Miliband said he had no doubt that JFK would argue that Britain should stay in the Europe Union and would back David Camerons call for a deeper and stronger single market.

Doesnt surprise me that a Labour guy whose dad was a Marxist theorist would come out with any crazy duckspeak.JFK would want Britain to stay in the EU: David Milibands bizarre claim that assassinated US president would back Brussels
Muhammad would want David Miliband to side with the Mooslims.
David, who cares what JFK would want? I don’t.
I will have to reserve judgment until I find out
where Millard Fillmore would have come down on
this issue.
Ted Kennedy would want us to build more bridges, preferably over large bodies of water where unfortunate women might drown.
That’s my question too. Good grief, who gives a rip?
JFK died 50 years ago, minus 16 days.
I’m not a massive fan of JFK, but I think JFK would be grim about what is taking place in this nation today, at the hands of the Democrats/Leftists.
I think he would want this nation to maintain it’s sovereignty. I have no reason to believe he wouldn’t want Britain to keep it’s own.
What makes him think so and why would any UK citizen care?
Wouldn’t surprise me if he did. The Kennedys were a bunch of IRA supporting a55hats who would have liked nothing better than to see Britain humbled and subsumed within a European superstate.
Good point. Me too. :^)
...and he probably wouldn’t have returned the Churchill bust, either.
I know. This is a little like Obama saying
“Anwar Sadat would want us to have soviet healthcare.”
JFK’s father was the US ambassador to Britain in the 1930s. Not that that gave JFK any superior insights into what would be good for Britain then or now.
Miliband is something of an expert on JFK and had been asked by the Kennedy Memorial Trust to deliver lectures marking the 50th anniversary of the assassination...so it may be out of the blue to most Britains but given the context really not.
A self-appointed expert?
Looks like they felt the same way about Ireland too, then?
The EU seems like just the sort of New World Order outfit that an Ivy Leaguer would go for. The bigger question is that of who cares.
Especially as Kennedy pere was an ardent admirer of Adolf Hitler...
Too many important people who care want it to be more powerful than it is today.
The only thing JFK wanted were his meds and starlets.
.
.
oh ya... JFK never backed obamacare either.
