Five millions tons of debris made up of devastated property is making its way to the US following the 2011 tsunami in Japan

A floating island of debris three times the size of BRITAIN is heading for the California coastline sparking huge environmental concerns.

Five millions tons of rubbish made up of devastated homes, boats, cars and businesses is making its way across the Pacific Ocean following the 2011 tsunami in Japan.

Scientists have already discovered debris on the west coast but their latest findings suggest California is expected to be hit with a deluge all at once.

America’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released their latest findings showing a huge island of rubbish floating northeast of the Hawaiian Islands.

Boffins have been unable to say for certain when the debris will wash ashore but they have been closely monitoring its movements which stretches from Alaska to the Philippines.

So why not just use that “island” to test some nuke? Seem’s like you’d get two birds with one stone.

Well technically, that’s Chinese writing on it - that it came from Japan is a likely theory, but there are other options.

"5 million tons is less than 2 square miles, assuming a depth of a yard."

Not if it's all Styrofoam.

Hypothesis:

To prevent all the lawsuits from California Japan invades and takes over the coastal half of the state claiming they are performing a “cleanup.”

Rather than risk all out war the US agrees to an uneasy peace. Keeps border closed, leaving all the welfare recipients and unions in Japan’s half.

Japan returns all the Mexicans to Mexico; housing prices plummet overnight as half the population is gone. Welfare recipients are relocated to disputed islands in the South China Sea.

With the major motropolitan areas no longer in the United States California becomes a deep red state. Without the California lock Democrats start losing elections badly.

The quality of television shows and movies soar.

IT COULD HAPPEN.

Well look at you! You just bested the research staff of The Mirror and were able to confirm that it is, in fact, not Japanese writing.

You'd think they'd be able to score somebody to make that determination.

Thanks, btw, it is interesting that it is Chinese writing, though of course its probably from Japan. You could wash any part of the US into the sea and find plenty of crap with Chinese writing on it!

Texas is much bigger than England,,, much. Google images for “Texas Europe size comparison”.
Its really kind of funny. And Alaska makes it ridiculous.

Not if it's all Styrofoam.

Not in that hypothetical.

The article characterizes it as building materials - much of which is denser than the topsoil I was using as a benchmark.

Why don’t we just build some golf courses and resorts on it?

If it was headed to Florida it would have a golf course and a Timeshare before it hit land...

One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.

Californians will call it a floating park, give it a lib politicians name, fence off the access and charge a fee/tax to see it.
