The firestorm over President Obama's "you can keep your plan" lie now threatens to singe vulnerable Democrats next year, so they're springing into action to try to force the administration to keep its word. Louisiana's Mary Landrieu -- an ardent Obamacare supporter -- is scrambling to undo one of the obvious consequences of a law she's voted to pass, fund, and retain:
Sen. Mary Landrieu said Wednesday she would propose legislation to ensure all Americans could keep their existing insurance coverage under Obamacare, a fresh sign of the political problems the laws rollout has created for congressional Democrats. Landrieu, a Democrat who faces a tough reelection in Louisiana in 2014, said she would either offer her own bill or formally sign onto another measure that would ensure that the law would not force anyone off of their existing health policies. The promise was made, and it should be kept, Landrieu said in the Capitol Wednesday. And it was our understanding when we voted for that bill that people when they have insurance could keep with what they had. So Im going to be working on that fix.

Right, most of those are the individual plans.”
One segment we haven’t heard much from are those people who have their insurance through their professional group, like AVMA. Most of them are losing their coverage at the end of this year but haven’t heard them speak out yet. Maybe they just don’t realize it yet.
Obama has been bragging that healthcare costs have gone up slower than before. The problem is that the costs are still going up aster than inflation and Obamacare is not bending the cost curve.
Once the employers start dropping the healthcare plans, the sh#t will really start hitting the fan. I can envision Obama asking for greater subsidies on the exchanges to reduce premium costs. The Dems will be hitting us with all kinds of tearjerker stories and saying that we must fix Obamacare. The Reps will be blamed if they don't help fix Obamacare.
I see the costs of the program going thru the roof. Initially, it was projected that 18 million would be added to Medicaid. I have my doubts the number will be that low. Just like food stamps, Obama will be getting as many people on Medicaid as possible. More dependency on government the better.
Regardless what you or we think of Beck, something is going on here. I have a feeling Obama's numbers are far worse than this supposed 41%. I can't get into it on the forum, but I sense shear panic from what I am hearing they know it is going to fail and Obama will take them down in his undertow.
Vote out EVERY “YES” voter.
And he never admits being wrong.
The rats own it, let them choke on it.
There's truly another way.
The Republicans must cry out how Obama lied, how the democrats made this happened, how everyone is getting screwed by the democrats---That the Republicans were not only against the monstrosity, but have alternatives.
The GOP is not called the stupid party for nothing, but come on! The democrats cannot pass the blame on this. They absolutely own it.
I don't know how successful they will be, but it won't be for a lack of trying.
Or you could say:
I don't know how unsuccessful the Republicans will be, but it will probably be for a lack of trying.
She wants to make it appear she is doing something. She has no intention of getting people back on their plans.
Yet another load of BS.
Ha, ha, ha.....
Hurry up, do something even if it is wrong or meaningless.
Pretend to act. Pretend to be a player
She is toast.
And it was our understanding when we voted for that bill that people when they have insurance could keep with what they had. So Im going to be working on that fix.
But, Mary, it’s the law of the land. Deal with it.
There is a strong revulsion to admitting one was wrong for the majority of your life, and that’s why we see these generational democRat voting patterns.
Correct, people don’t like to think they were ever voting stupid.
That bill will have a Senate document number on it and a title.
The House Republicans could probably use it, complete with the original title, as a "shell bill". They could strip out all the original enacting language, and replace it with the necessary text to repeal ObamaCare, and then return it to the Senate...thus slapping Dingy Harry and the Senate RATs across the lips with it.
Do the RINOs have the intellect and the balls to do that?
Individal market, not group...You know, the self-employed, public enemy #1 of the control-freak socialists.
Besides, there are usually several people on a family plan, probably an average of three.
Agree. One of the least covered but most important effect of Obamacare is the huge transfer of wealth to the government. Individuals will have less discretionary income, which will have a ripple effect throughout the economy.
Well I guess NOW they know what’s in it.
Lucky me! I get to keep my plan, BUT, it’s only going to go up $100 bucks a month!
